Randwick Council Proposes Beach Parking Fees

Right now, most of these spots offer free parking, except for Couging, the plan which charge visitors to help cover costs. The money raised would fund new beach amenities, walkways, buildings, and surf clubs. Local Raypayers currently foot most of the bill, even though visitors packed the beaches in summer. Countries would get at least one free parking permit per household. This setup is similar to other Sydney councils. Way really offers free permits to homes without off-street parking, while northern beaches and most men do the same for locals. Officials say it's fair since many visitors come from inner city areas and nearby suburbs. Countries have struggled with beach parking before. Last year, Willera had to scrap a resident's only system near Camp Cove Beach after it was ruled illegal. They switched to one-hour limits for visitors to balance things out.
