Rams Draft Edge Rusher at 13, Despite Pro Bowl Duo

0:00On April 20th, the Los Angeles Rams head into the 2026 season with two beast mode edge rushers in Jair verse and Byron Young. Both made Pro Bowl last year and wrecked quarterbacks all season long. But Young's a free agent after this year, and verse can negotiate his deal soon. Edge guys command top dollar, second only to quarterbacks. NFL insider Adam Schefter dropped a hot take, saying the Rams might surprise everyone by grabbing another edge rusher early in the draft. Folks expect them to pick a wide receiver, but with contracts piling up for guys like Puka Nakua and Kobe Turner, they got a plan smart. Schefter pointed to Will Anderson's new 50 million a year deal as a wake up call. The Rams love verse and Young, but paying both could break the bank. You just can't keep everybody in this league. They already drafted Josiah Stewart last year to bolster the pass rush, but Schefter says you can never have too many. It's a backup plan in case they lose one or both stars. With their picket number 13, now's the perfect spot to snaggily talent.
