About this episode
Rams Trade Rumors: A.J. Brown Deal Nixed, Davante Adams Future Uncertain
Rams fans were thrilled by rumors of trading for A.J. Brown, but the real surprise was the talk of dealing Davante Adams. Coach Sean McVay confirmed a serious Adams trade discussion if Brown joined. However, medical concerns about Brown led to no trade happening. Fans were initially excited, then disappointed by the Adams angle. The situation revolved around money, with Puka Nacua seeking a big extension. The Rams avoided a salary crunch by locking in Nacua long-term, keeping their options open for the future.

0:00It's March 30th. Welcome in. This is NFL News Today, where the league meets AI. I'm Cory with the story. Ram Spans were buzzing early this month over rumors of trading for Eagle star AJ. Brown. But the real shot came when talk turned to shipping out their own Devonte Adams. Coach Sean McVeigh just confirmed on Monday that yeah, an Adams deal was seriously on the table if they landed Brown. The Brown acquisition would have made moving Adams the smart play for the team's roster and cap space. But the Rams pulled back after spotting issues in Brown's medical reports, so no trade happened for him or Adams. Fans lit up with excitement at first, then hit pure disbelief over the Adams angle. It all ties into money too. Pukinaku was eyeing a big extension at around $42 million a year now and stacking on Brown's 29. And Adams 24 million for 2026 just wasn't feasible. The whole thing wrapped before Adams hit his $6 million roster bonus on March 15th.
1:02Even after leading the league and touchdown catches last year, McVeigh put them on notice that another move could have been coming. Now with Nakua locked in long term, the Rams stay balanced up front, dodging that salary crunch and keeping their options open for the future.
