These are the radio blogs on the Fred show. It's like we're writing in our diaries, except we say them aloud, we call them blogs Kiki. Yeah. You got one go. All right, dear blogs, so over the weekend, I got a chance to fulfill one of my childhood dreams, which, well, two of them actually, one was I ended up in a hotel with a microwave and a refrigerator in my room. You didn't have to ask for it. I did not. It was just there. Now, how much refrigeration and microwave did you do? I didn't, I didn't. But you had the option, and that's what made you feel good, okay? It made me feel so good. Okay. I wasn't even supposed to be there. Anyway, that's beside the story. But another childhood dream of mine was to always, whenever I got married, go to this wedding boutique in New York called Kleinfields. If you know, you have watched the show,

say yes to the dress, our very own Jason. Yes. Or say yes to the dress. I'm familiar with that story. Yes. And you said yes to the dress. I said yes. Yes. It is a famous show that I think we all watched on repeat for our entire lives and childhood. And so it's like where all the eight girls go to find their wedding dress. So I just happened to be in New York for some other stuff. And I was like, hey, I'm going to go to Kleinfields by myself. So low, I made the little bridal appointment. They said, how many coming with you? I'm like zero. I felt so beautiful. But when I pulled up, it is everything you see on TV. Like it is, it is, it is a Disney world for brides. So you walk in and everybody is rich. Right? Everybody in the store is rich. So you walk in and there is me. And I got my little scene called on. And I'll be honest, you may not be rich, but you look rich. Exactly. So you play the part. Thank you. Come on now. So I roll up and they walk you in. And they're like, okay, let me get you

set up with your bridal attendants or whatever. So they come out and they come in. Shout out to my girls. They were amazing. So they take me back in the room. And you know, I'm a plus size bride. So I'm like, now let me see what car I feel got for the plus size girls. Because sometimes they try to put us in like these little get out, like you just, you look a mess. So I'm like, let me see what they're going to bring out. What do they try and put you in? Like, you know, those like smocks. Like you just always look terrible. They put you in a smock. Yes. Okay. They come. And I'm like, let me see what they're giving. I'm ready to drag them. Now, they come out and these dresses are beautiful. And before they even pulled the dress, they they asked you and they used to do this on the show too. What is your budget? Now, as a kid, when I watched in the girls, what they would say, what's your budget? If you said anything less than 10 grand, I was like, oh, you broke girl, you have no. I knew when I walked in, I was like, when they asked that question, I'm just going to say, there is no budget. Oh. Literally, there is no budget. The budget does not exist.

Is that a make one? Because what I was going to ask you is if they're like, they have to be like real estate agents where you're like, what's your budget? You're like 250 grand. They're showing you houses that like a million bucks. Yes. So you can see what you can't afford. You know, if you're like, well, maybe I can make this work. Now, I was just, I was wondering if they bring out like, you know, diamond studies stuff that was a million bucks. Yeah. So I went in there and I said no budget. But I was meaning like, like, there really is no budget for this. But I'm here. Like, there's actually no budget. There's no money, right? They interpret it as money is no object. Right. You were really saying to them is I don't have any money. Yeah. So you weren't lying. No, I was trying to be honest though. I also wanted to see the best of what they have. You know, and they really pulled it out. And it was just when you walk in there, it's total sales many, you know, because everybody's like, oh my god, you like a princess. People you don't know come out of random spots. They're like, that is so beautiful. Like, you're breathtaking. You know, it was. They know what they're doing. Yes. What was the most expensive dress they brought out? I think it was a dress for like $10,000. Which was made by the star of the show.

His name is Randy. Who is Randy there? Wow. He was not there, but he has his own dress. He has his own dress. Oh my goodness. Is that a lot for a wedding dress? I don't know. Oh my goodness. Oh yeah, yeah, that's a lot. No, I know that sounds stupid, but like, I weddings are expensive. So I don't know what a lot for what it is. The 10 grand would be a high. Yes. Is that very high end or? Yeah. Is it like anything else where you can go nuts if you want to? I mean, you can if you want to, but I think most people can't find that. What do you think? I'm going to look it up. I'm just curious. I have no perspective as well. I would say like two are under as like average probably. Yeah. But did they jack you up? Which means they add the veil? No. So they didn't jack me up. Because I had the average. Yeah, 2100 bucks is the average. 2100. 2100. The average wedding dress cost in 2025 is approximately $2,100. That's pretty good. Oh, that's not bad. No, that's not bad. That sounds like what you should be. I don't know. But I tend sounds like a lot for a dress that you are more than likely only going to work one time. Correct. But they get you with, okay, the dress will be $5,000. But the alterations are another $5,000.

You know, they kept telling me, girl, you can customize. Because I was like, I love the type of this dress. I like the bottom of that. I'm buying a dress for $5,000. And it cost me $5,000 to make it look good on you. Oh, that's how they get you. It's expensive. Why don't you just make me address that? Why don't we skip the initial five grand? And then you make me address for five grand. Exactly. Don't get a tailor there either. Like, we can find you like, you know, I got a little lady who will do it. I got a lady. Yeah. Into the dry grey. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Just anybody but them, please. Yes. But this was a, this was a big milestone on my little bridal checklist because client fails is just, it's iconic. So did you go for the experience or will you buy a dress from them? Oh, absolutely not. I went for the experience. Yeah. And I'm not so big with the, with the crew, you know, because they, they want you to bring your family in and, you know, it's, it's a whole deal. I'm sure they do because they need all of those people to pay for the dress. Yeah. They need a full-on-go-fundy to get the money out of you. But you know what you want now. Yes. Now I have an idea of what I actually like in a wedding dress.

So now it really begins. And why didn't you want to put the veil on you wanted to wait for that moment? I did. Yeah. I wanted to wait for that moment. Is it like a lot of shopping experiences where, I should say, like poor shopping experiences, where they bring stuff out, you're like, you think I would wear that? Oh. Or do they, do they, do they get it right? Because you know, like sometimes you'll go to a department store or something, and I know they're just doing their jobs. But you'll, you'll be like, hey, you know, I'm, I'm trying this and that. And then they'll like bring you like a tutu. Yeah. What, what made you think I'm, I'm shopping for jeans. Like what made you think that I wanted this? Right. And then that, honestly, that always backfires with me because then I'm like, you know, you're not really paying any attention. No. First of all, I wear an XL in tutu, not a medium. Right. So that's the first thing. Right. Exactly. I can't even get this around, but this tutu around my leg. Okay. So that's, I'm offended now, but I was just curious. Like if they, so they listened to you and they, they brought you options that you would actually like, because I've watched the show before. And I don't know if they do it on purpose or what, Mugi, you were on the show.

Yeah. But do they bring out ugly ones, like, just to try to establish like a baseline? Like, and sometimes I think that I remember our Diane ladies saying like, well, you don't know you don't like something until you see it on. So let's go like, full right. And then you might like it or it might spark something else or another idea or something like that. And I would, the bride I was with decide to go with the red dress, probably not, but like, you try it on just to see, you know, like, yes, I'm sure they've already chosen the dress before they go in. No. No. Oh, I'm sorry if I ruined house hunters for you. House, house hunters, they've already bought the house before they, which is funny because then you got to go on house hunters, you got to go into the house, you bought. Yeah. You've got to trash it. They kind of sound like like, you know, you got to find positives in negatives about all three houses. Yeah. I would be weird to go into the house. I'd just bought and be like, man, we should tear this thing down. Did they try to make you like the sassy gay or something like this? Yeah. I think that's more of like the TV side of South. They want like, I would never decide to put a tear on, but like, there was me and a tear

out, you know, you know. To attitude. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah. That was more for like, fluffing it for TV right now. Yeah. So it was still filming, but they really are when I walked out, there were camera crews outside and they kept trying to get me into the big area where everyone is filming and whatever. They kept saying like, if you want to go out there, we can go out there. We can go out there. I'm like, girl, no. No. You're like, oh, no. I just can't. Like it for being on the show, do you get a discount on the dress? I don't believe so. So you just, you just. Right. Yeah. You get to be on the show and then they pick one bride out of every episode, I guess, where they film your wedding. Right. You're going to be cool like Momento. You get this, like, professionally filmed thing on TV of your wedding. But yeah, I was in there for like 12, 14 hours. Oh my God. That's all there is. It's some LeCroix of Starbeard. Wow. I don't know how to teach you. There's no catering. For the show. I was like, no, no, sub sandwich. Give me like a panerova. Give me like a gym. I'm not doing it. No. Bring a lunch. Remind me, when I go on stage to the dress, I'm negotiating a catering budget.

I was starving. What the hell? Yeah. Wow. It was a cool experience. Well, happy for you. Yeah. So you got to do it. Yeah. So when you're going to go back with family, even though you're not going to buy the dress there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
