Like writing in our diaries, except we say to them a lot of we call them blogs, killing go. Dear blog, so we were talking about this off era the other day, but I really try to always operate with something to either look forward to or some sort of silver lining. And some weeks I definitely need it more than others. And this week I really needed a win because I'm dealing with like an ankle issue, a broken finger.
I have bronca, like I'm just falling apart at the seams, but there is a silver lining to this week. And that is for the first time in my life, I got, as you call it, Fred, my big girl bed. It was delivered yesterday. This is so exciting. So you've been sleeping in a queen size bed. My entire life, I went from full to queen. Including with another human at one point. Yes. And yet, wow, well, I had a lot of points. Yeah, my whole life, you know, why don't think you've been sleeping with another human your whole life. Um, I mean, a lot of like my life, yeah, I hope you're adult life, your whole life would include like eight, nine, ten. Yeah. There's people in this bed. Yeah. I mean, sleep over. I'm going to watch out. No, no, no. Okay. Yeah. You know, I'm just, we're going to leave that. So, um, the more you're exciting, this is exciting. No, I was worried about it, but it would explain a lot. Um, so a king size bed can, you know what? I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It is so, so. I've really grown up. Okay. So everybody tell me, I know.
Okay. So Paul, did your natural ever help you deliver it? You know what's funny is when the delivery, but you know, I love to ask a gentleman, a delivery person to like do another task for me, especially now that my fingers broken. Good God. Don't worry. I pay them every time. So when they dropped off the bed, they were like, we can take the mattress, that was their little deal. So they took them. I said, can you take the backstreet spring too? They said, eh, I said, okay, what if I, you know, give you a little extra fine? Then I asked them, can you check this thing on my back? I can't. Well, then I said, you guys, I have a broken finger and I can't flip this rug. Can you flip this rug for me? So they did it. They paid them for the extra dollars to help me out. Anywho, I know that, so do you, what? These windows are a little dirty too. I don't know if you get it, you know, it's like, it's part of your personality now. It's like, it's just something that you do. And my toilet is running. It's running. Any deliverer driver going to Cambridge house, get ready for a full to-do list. I didn't have no contact. I wouldn't even want them to know I'm home if they're dropping something off at the door.
My car was just, was making it weird noise. Take a look at it. You can't have no contact when they're going in your bedroom to switch out your mattress. Yeah, I know I get it. Yeah, they had to be kept in anyways. I wanted to serve everyone. Do you guys all have kings? Because like, I? Oh, yeah, no. But I didn't have one for a long time. I had a queen for a long time and then finally, I decided it was time and it would change my life. And I'm a large human being. So I mean, it was, but it was 20 times, I still sleep on the same, probably 18 inches of the bed. Very corner of the bed. I have this whole other bed and no one's in it. But for whatever reason, I only use like the, I almost fall off the damn thing. So I don't really know why I have that. Yeah, I just think like for a lot of like living in Chicago, obviously, like a lot of times, like the room wasn't big enough to have a king. And then like when you're growing up, like I'm not going to be like a child with a king bed. I think now, Caitlin, if I had a room that wasn't big enough that was, that would only fit the bed, then we'd have a bed room. Yeah. Like I'm not compromising anymore with the size of the bed. So like if the bed would, if the room would only fit the bed, then we'd figure, I'd have
your drivers come over and we'd figure and we'd tear a wall down or something to make sure that there was a king size bed because I just think it's a grown up. It's a nice luxury, especially if there are two people in the bed. I don't know how you do it otherwise. I know. Yeah. I still look up on the, on the same side, Jason does a queen with two big humans and two big corgis. Yeah. And then Paulina does the queen when she can fit a king in high, two kings in my bedroom. Like that's why I'm mad because I have no furniture. It is not. I don't have furniture. I'm a minimalist. Yeah. I bought a queen size bed for no reason. It's because I don't measure it. I'm like, oh, a king won't fit. Like where did I get that? So Jason, can I tell the thing that we talked about yesterday about you and my, my, the mechanic in bed together or not currently? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Yeah. I'm trying to think like what I mean, the longer you make me explain this story, then the more the story that is that it's all right. So that's what we're thinking. I know a lot of stories, Jason. I wouldn't have done you that dirty. Okay. No. So I want to make sure I got this right.
You were explaining yesterday that your current, you see, you just had knee surgery a little bit ago. Like things are weird. You're going to sleep on one side and I, and I, it looks like torture and I'm sorry you, you're going through this, but we're glad that you're back. But, but you were saying yesterday off the air that you guys sleep in a queen bed together. You and Mike the mechanic and that normally you would sleep facing away from one another. Yeah. Like I face the wall. But now if you weren't asleep in the bed and you're not right now, and what is the reason why you're not sleeping in the bed, you're sleeping on the couch, and why are you sleeping on the couch with the bad knee, you know, well, it is kind of a weird reason that you're not doing it. Anyway. Yeah. So he, if, if I, if I were to sleep in the bed now, I would have to lay on my right side, which means I would be looking at him while sleeping or like, you know, that would be facing him. Why is that? You know, like, then we're just like, they're laying looking at each other. Like, I don't, like, that's a really uncomfortable, but they were like, breathe, like we don't, we have to buy them totally understand what you're saying, and especially in a queen bed,
like at this point, you're nose to nose. They're breathing on each other, and there's probably a dog in between us. Like, like, I can't do that. So nothing made more sense to me than that yesterday. Yeah. So until I can lay on my left side, like, I'm on the couch. Yeah. You can sleep face to face with like where I'm breathing in your nose and you're breathing in mind. Like, I couldn't do it. Oh. Oh, I get so mad. Oh. Oh, sorry. No, no. No, it's a safe space. No, I would get so mad. Like sometimes some of the Timothy will turn over in his sleep and face my, like, my direction. I'm like, you know, this is not the routine. But I'm back around. Get away. You know, get away from me because now we're breathing in each other's face and nobody wants that. This is why I've said forever. that, and people, oh, that's not intimacy. That's not a relationship, Fred. You don't get it. But that's why I have said the sleeping issues, bathroom issues. If you are in a position to do it, I just don't know why you don't have the option for a two bedroom relationship at minimum. I joke about two houses. I still think that's a better plan. But think about this.
You know, everyone's sleep is different and they need room. And if you don't get good sleep, then you're in a bad mood, which affects their relationship. I'm not saying that you can't sleep in the same bed. But I'm saying, or, you know, somebody blows up the bathroom, or someone leaves toothpaste in the sink, or somebody's, you know, doing whatever's going on, whatever, whatever you got going on, you don't feel well. If you had your, and again, I don't know that everybody can has this luxury. But if you have two bedrooms in your home, then why not? You had your own closet, your own bathroom, your own bed, and then none of this comes into play ever. I agree more with this several bathrooms. I think that that would be a must for me. But the sleeping together, like, I feel like there's an intimacy there. Well, you don't have to not. But like in this example, Jason's on a couch. Yeah. Because he doesn't want to be nose to nose with his partner, which I, I get it. He has a guest room with a bed in it. Yeah. Why are you there? He just has like clothes on it. Because he wants his clothes off the bed. I get it brother. I'm with you brother. So I'm going to give him a closet space. So all my stuff goes into that, that bedroom room is basically my closet. And I wear the same five shirts.
But now I, in the back of my head, I'm also really nervous that he might be getting, like, really comfortable without me in the bed. So now I'm like, Oh, no, what's going to happen? Like, I don't want that. I don't want that. We're like different rooms. Like, I very much and prepared to once this brace comes off. Like, I'm back in the bed. But I don't know, like, he's really liking it. Oh, you're smart. It's safe. The dogs choose him aside right now. Oh, yeah, with him. They're with him and they are sprawled out on my side. So now they don't want you to come back. So it's going to be a weird transition in this household. I have a, I have a colleague that I work with somewhere and it's not in this room. But I, well, I'm like, I want to say who it is. But I don't think it's a secret. Are we a colleague? Ready? Are my colleagues? No, you're my, no, see, I don't compartmentally. You're my friends. You're my family. I don't, I don't know. You don't, we don't do this. Oh, the side. I, you're not work family. You're just at this point, you're stuck with me. And I'm stuck with you. Yeah. But she, they sleep in set. They've been married for a long time. They have kids. They work very different schedules. She works nights. He works days. Oh, yes. And I mean,
by night she, she comes home at like two in the morning. Is one of the more and whatever. And so she, they have separate rooms and separate bathrooms. They sleep with every, but then on, I want to say, it's Thursday night, Thursday nights, when she comes home, it's time. It's, it's date night. You know what that means? So like tap, tap, tap, Thursday night. I love this. And now granted, I need to be more than Thursday night. It needs to be more than that. But, but what I, I love this. So I, because it's, they're happy to see each other and they do the deal. And then they go their separate ways. And there's no one who's hot. And there's no one, you know, you, I don't have to explain some of the other idiosyncrasies that you have to deal with. You don't have to deal with that. Yes. And it works for them. It's a beautiful life. And the schedule thing is a big deal. Because, you know, if you get home at two in the morning, or you're like us and you get up at four in the morning, like most people don't get up to, I don't know, six, thirty seven, whatever it is. If I'm waking up every day at four in the morning, you're waking up at least for that period of time. And maybe you can go back to sleep. And maybe you can't. And maybe you can go back to REM sleep or maybe you can't. But like every day, I think that would really wear on somebody else.
Yeah. My husband's, he's done with me. He's had enough. Yeah. John, you have a separate bedroom from your girlfriend. Yes. So I work in the pool industry. I get up at five thirty every day. My girlfriend works in the service industry. So she's getting home at one thirty in the morning. So a while back, she heard her ankle and then we had a second bed in another room. And we decided, hey, why don't you sleep in there? So I used to talk in turn. So I didn't want to kick her and, you know, injure her anymore. So I said, I'll sleep in the other room. And then we woke up the next morning like, hey, how did you sleep? And we both left even better. And from that night forward, we've been moved. We've been sleeping in separate beds. And it's a chance I have to say. Now, John, can't argument as it is, like, it's less intimate. Do you find that do you think your relationship is missing something? Because I have a feeling you don't miss appointments. You know what I mean? No. No, it's not bad. You know, we do have our time when we meet up, you know,
also taking that in that room. And well, you know, we'll do that part of our relationship. You know, one of them. That part. I'm not really. It's been a while. But yeah, no, I think I know what you mean. And I briefly vaguely recall what that's like. But, um, okay. She's some all-tory. Go try, give it a try. By the way, a nap session is also elite. Yeah. A daytime nap session. Easy elite. But what about when you're sleeping and you wake up and they're there and it's like a little touch or something. That's the worst part. Okay. I'm kidding. That's the thing. My girlfriend is the lightest sleeper. I could literally breathe heavy and she wakes up. And then she would. There you go, John. Yeah, there you go. Hey, you're, hey, welcome to the club, John. You're smart guy. Have a good day. Thank you. No, when people are not sleeping well, it affects everything. Oh, yeah. Yeah. So I know, I know a lot of folks that, uh, you know, have opposites get the years of ours that they, they just sleep in separate rooms. And it's not because they don't love each other. They don't want to be in the same room. It's just like, I'm not going
to wake you up every day at four o'clock in the morning for 25 years. Whatever works. I want you going to be with me. Yeah. Yeah. Just don't breathe on me. Okay. Sorry. When I sleep the whole house. Oh, it's usually Timothy. That may be three of us are there. Wait. Ready for a different take on Formula One? Look no further than no grip.
