Radcliffe Mill Blaze: Firefighters Battle Massive Fire

0:00On April 22nd, firefighters and greater Manchester have been battling a massive blaze at the old Pioneer Mill in Radcliffe for over 12 hours now. The disused building on Milltown Street went up in flames and crews from the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are still on site making sure it's fully out. Operations have scaled back some, but emergency teams haven't left yet. The roads cordoned off and locals are told to steer clear while they wrap things up. This hit closed the home for residents, especially with support rolling in from police, ambulances and even berry council. No one's reporter hurt so far, but the closures keeping the neighborhood on edge. An investigation into what sparked, it kicks off soon. Interestingly, this Mill had another fire just six months back in September, raising some eyebrows about the site. Crews expect to fully dampen it overnight, so expect that smoky haze lingering a bit longer in Radcliffe.
