2:05These spurs battered the heat, 136 to 111 last night with Victor Wembenyama, having 26.15 rebounds in five blocks post-game Wembe was asked to give his case for the MVP award. My first one would be that defense is 50% of the game and that is undervalued so far in the MVP race because I believe I'm the most impactful player defensively in the second argument would be we almost swept, okay, see in the season and we dominated him three times with their real team and four times with more rotation players. My third argument would be that offense impact is not just sports. All right, Charming or Chatch, Wembe's pitch for MVP. So I like that he's going for it. I do. I mean, it's worth I think like $50 million for him to go ahead and make this pitch. So I get, since obviously it's beneficial for him, I disagree with his defense assessment, okay? That's not 50% of the game. It's like 40% of the game right now. And I understand why he's trying to make, well, I mean, think about it. We have a defensive player of the year award. Do we not?

3:06Yeah. Do we have an offensive player of the year award? I think it's called the MVP. It's called the MVP. It never done did it. We have the MVP and the offensive player of the year award. So like I just, I don't understand where he thinks the game is equal as far as the offensive and defensive side. I actually would like if we had an NBA offensive player of the year award, which was on the level and then NBA MVP was the best blend of the two because I hate the fact that it's just like, oh, you scored 36 points last year. Yeah, but you must be the MVP. Yeah, for like the history of the NBA, it's a day that would, it just would have been redundant. So like maybe that first team, maybe Wembee is the one that gets this to go. Maybe Wembee is the one that gets this to change, but I doubt it. But I, I like him campaigning for it. And I do think as far as a lot of his stats and his numbers, like you do have to watch Wembee to appreciate what he does in changing a game and making it different. I think he's got like 39 blocks on the air. You watch nobody goes near him. Yeah. I did nobody nobody goes in his area. Nobody goes into space. The fact that he's got 39 is incredible. He'd have twice three times that number if people treated him like a normal player. Yeah, we live in the era of point centers and bead can run the offense.

4:09Yochets can run the offense. Cat can, but probably shouldn't run the offense. There are like, there are a lot of guys can, the offense can flow through. Wembee is like watching a seven foot five point guard. It is, I mean, it is like when it, it's so funny because I remember watching LeBron for the first time in the NBA and thinking six, eight, two and 50 pounds. He's a, he's a, you know, point guard in a center's body. Sorry, in a, in a power forward's body. And then, and that was like, we're not going to get a better or bigger than that. And then Kevin Ramp came along and seven, one, and he's still a power forward's body, but, you know, a point, a point guard, whatever in that body. And I was like, oh, okay, clearly, no one will ever, and now Wembee's doing it. At seven five, like seven, like seven foot five with point guard hand. It's just stupid. It really is just stupid. Like, we're, I feel like if he keeps doing what he's going to do, I'd like, we're what he's doing right now. I think we're just going to eventually have to have like a Wembee award to keep him away from the other awards, because it's just ridiculous.

5:10It is like the defensive player of the year and less because of the 65 game minimum, it's walked up for the next decade. Also, hot take. Yeah. I wish he would sound a little more French. Yeah, he's got no Frenchness to him. I've got a little like that. I like that about it now. 15% Frenchness. But if you grew up in France, I would, I need like, you know, my, you know, my, you know, at least one aha. You know, my distaste for the French. Too much boredom and on-way. I just had a, I like, I like that he, I like that he doesn't have that to him. I like that he, yeah. They just, they always look down on us. I don't understand it. Your friends. Well, have you seen America recently? Your friends, I just don't like it. I think they look down on everyone. They do. There's not anyone that the French are like, you know, I almost went on Michaels. Please give me that one. Please give me that one again. Bright. Okay. Dylan Raiola. He got permission from Marcus Marriota and Dylan Gabriel to wear number eight of the organ. Yeah. There's two things to this story. Now, they're all from Hawaii, right? Raiola, Dylan and Marcus Marriota.

6:11And so part of this is the idea that he's dropping number 15. So the cosplay of being Patrick Mahomes is gone. Cosplay is Dylan Gabriel. Yeah, I think he's cosplaying as Marcus Marriota and Dylan Gabriel. I think that's like that might be around the field on his knees to a, it might be also, I love the idea that he had to call up Dylan Gabriel for this. Like, this is a Marcus Marriota thing. You really have to call up Dylan Gabriel. It was good at organ. You have to call up Dylan Gabriel. I know the guy to call Marcus Marriota. Well, it's not retired. It's not retired. That's the other side of this. Kind of a kiss ass. Well, and that's Dylan Raiola in his entirety, right? Like, this is if he's got a transform into either one of these Hawaiian, Oregon quarterbacks, I think it starts with being a kiss ass. Also, couldn't you, like, who's to say, like, cut it off at those two? Been plenty of guys with more than number eight. You got to call, if you're going to still call Dylan Gabriel, it might as well call everyone. I remember Joey Harrington being number three. That's as far as I go for organ quarterbacks in the Jersey numbers. I remember Joey Harrington being one of the most ass quarterbacks I've ever seen in the NFL.

7:12In the NFL, for sure. Actually, no, another order quarterback. And Kelly Smith, he was awesome. I remember, I remember the 99 draft of being like, listen, Tim Couch, like, yeah, sure, he's the better pocket passer. But if Kelly Smith might be the future. And then he wasn't. Not even close. Let's go here. Jason Whitlock went on Cam Newton's fourth and one podcast and trash. Stephen A Smith calling him amongst other things. A liar yesterday, Stephen A responded with a rant back at Whitlock on the Stephen A Smith show. Nice studio. Something you can't afford. Somewhere along the way. 10:15I'll tell you that much. I kind of think it's Whitlock because he kind of got in Steven's cage enough that it upset him enough to go ahead and have. This is what Whitlock, I mean, this is, he built a whole empire in this. Well, I think that's the problem. I think at some point. Empires, I use that way too loosely there. He built a media company off of that. Yeah, he built a small studio. It's revenue. I mean, career that continues to go. When he did local radio in Kansas City, people acted as if like he was the only person to ever do sports at that point. And then Nick Wright came and that was, he shook it up a little bit. And I know those two got some heated battles. But like, like, there was a time where Whitlock dominated that market as far as being a talker. And then, but like everything since, and like, he was a really good columnist back in the day. I don't know if you remember ever reading them, like 15, 20 years ago. He was really exceptional at writing. And then it all is just kind of just going down the toilet. What I will say is I think this has been, Steve and I think the only reason the accident brought it up was because Cam Newton was a spineless jellyfish

11:15in the words of Jonathan Peterlin. I think Stephen A's had so much success. And I think you can just, I think his success can speak for itself in a way that Jason's can't. Yeah, if you're Stephen A, you don't have to respond to this. I kind of hated that Stephen A got triggered by anything that Jason said, because it's like, yeah, there are people out there on social media to say stuff about you. It's kind of, it goes part and parcel with being one of the five biggest names in sports right now. All right, let's go to another few now. Geo, now this one happened yesterday. There's been follow ups and everything. You're not shy to radio feuds though. I'm going to play the Geo part. He first got called a bad teammate by Brandon Tierney. And then he responded on the fan of New York. He said I was a bad teammate for pranking the show and being a caller who was bossing his balls about drinking with the team. His take on that is exactly the reason why he couldn't cut it here. Because he is someone who takes things way too seriously. He can't laugh at himself. And he doesn't get it.

12:15Everybody that worked for Brandon couldn't stand it. So if you want to go down the road, we'll go down the road. So here we are. People hated working with that guy. He's the bad teammate. He would trash his producers. He would belittle them. So don't tell me I'm a bad teammate because you can't take a joke. Man, did I immediately think of somebody that's worked here? Oh, man, did I just immediately? Did my brain go to exactly one person and one person alone on that one? Care to share who that is. I don't recall. Ah, missed it by that much. Okay, I think I know you're talking about. And no, I don't care to share. But you imagine if I said a name and you're like, that's not even the name I was thinking of. But also, yes, but also, no, I think this is funny. One, all of those guys ooze ego in a way that is just so overpowering. That quite frankly, it can be a little hard to enjoy listening to them. One thing I will say about geo is he's always had a great sense of humor.

13:17And I think that's, I think that's why him and Boomer have worked the way they have. I can see what he's saying about BT. I have never necessarily heard anything good or bad about BT, but I got to be honest with you. BT's reaction was, well, this is exactly what I was talking about. And you can't talk about my character. And it's like, well, you call him a bad teammate first. All right, but on the headlines, we're like, torches, turning and all these other stuff and eviscerates turning. And it's like, I don't know. That seemed pretty melancholy to me. That didn't seem, I've heard you go way worse, I can. I think he's, I think he saved the worst for his boss. I don't know if they saw that one. I'm not going to mention the name of the boss because higher up in this company than I also worked for. The Greg Gianotti, the worst thing he said was about his own boss. But, oh, it's funny. I listened to what Geo said, and I listened to what BT said about Geo. And I thought, at least Ken and I've never gone here. Oh, you thought that, huh? I did. Well, that was nice. That was nice, yeah.

14:17Yeah, that's nice. Oh, I think you can put that in that proper frame set for yourself then. I guess. So are you disagreeing? Yeah, there you have it. Yeah, there you have it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, you've, like on the daily, I think you've seen you guys have said things worse than what this was. This was, this was a pillow flight more than it was a, like some sort of awesome drag them out. I mean, for the headlines, the headlines made it seem like he went crazy nuclear. He didn't go nuclear here. That wasn't what that was. I think in the greater context, it was kind. He didn't go nuclear. He spent 10 minutes rippin' Brandon Tierney, Tierney and his boss. A new one. I missed the boss part of it. It was, it was, it was, it was, it was about to get the wrong clips. It was their better clips out there than I should have heard. Yeah, at one point, he, so he got mad that his boss allowed Brandon Tierney on the station after saying radio's dead, which is where this all started from. He got mad that his boss allowed BT on, a beg to be on to talk about St. John's. Right, right. And at the end of it, he was like, boomer was trying to defend their boss and BT said something akin to, well, a couple more decisions like that.

15:18He won't be our boss anymore. It's like, oh, no, that is, that is spicy. Well, that you say at a certain point in radio, you do become your own boss. Neither of us are at that point. We're not at that point, but, uh, yo, hey, maybe, maybe that morning show is in New York. I mean, we get less static than they get anybody at the station. Is that fair? Yeah, but we're far, we're far from being our own boss. That's not, that's not us. Yeah, no, I believe, I believe the entirety of radio is made appointed. Make us feel entirely powerless as we possibly could. Is that it? Yeah, it's working. Yeah, but I'm a real boy, guys. I'm my own man. Attention, fans of jury duty.
