Proverbs 13 & James 5
About this episode
Wisdom Daily Meditation
Today we meditate on Proverbs 13 and James 5 allowing God’s wisdom to recalibrate how we think, discern, and move forward with clarity.
This is not passive listening. It’s intentional hearing.
If you’ve experienced long delays between sensing God’s direction and actually moving forward, this meditation is a reminder: clarity doesn’t have to arrive in rare breakthroughs. It can become your default.
As you sit with these Scriptures, notice what sharpens — what settles — what clarifies.Wisdom doesn’t rush. It establishes.
If this meditation strengthens your discernment, share it with someone who values clarity over noise and obedience over urgency.
All scripture read from the World English Bible (WEB).
Today’s meditation is an invitation into daily clarity — not through urgency, but through wisdom that establishes.
If you’re longing to go deeper than listening alone, I invite you to join us on YouTube for Devotional Reset.
This is a live, weekday space where we slow down with Scripture, journal together, and allow the Word to form our posture before we move.
I intentionally designed this rhythm for those who don’t want Scripture to stay surface-level — but want it to nourish their discernment and steady their obedience.
We gather weekdays at 6:30am Pacific Time on YouTube. You can find us at YouTube.com/@therenewalwell.
Come as you are. There’s no pressure to perform — only space to receive.

0:00Wisdom establishes before it directs. Welcome to wisdom daily meditation. This is a space to slow down and let God's wisdom establish what urgency cannot. This is your moment to be present as we sit with scripture today. Allow the word to steady your thoughts and gently order your day. Let be and be still and know, recognize and understand that God is God. Now, inhale and exhale. Let's begin. Proverbs 13, a wise son listens to his father's instruction but a scoffer doesn't
1:06listen to rebukes. By the fruit of his lips, a man enjoys good deeds, but the unfaithful crave violence. Be who guards his mouth guards his soul, one who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. The soul of the sluggard desires and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied. A righteous man hates lies, but a wicked man breathes shame and disgrace. Righteousness guards the wave integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner. There are some who pretend to be rich yet have nothing. There are some who pretend to be poor yet have great wealth. The ransom of a man's life is his riches, but the poor hear no threats. The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out. Pride only breathes quarrels, but wisdom is with
2:12people who take advice. Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow. Ope deferred makes the heart sick, but when longing is fulfilled it is a tree of life. Whoever despises instruction will pay for it, but he who respects a command will be rewarded. The teaching of the wise is a spring of life, to town from the spheres of death. Good understanding wins favor, but the way of the unfaithful is hard. Every prudent man acts from knowledge, but a fool exposes folly. A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy gains healing. Poverty and shame come to him who refuses discipline, but he who he's corrections shall be honored. Longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil.
3:16One who walks with wise man grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. Miss Fortune pursues sinners, but prosperity rewards the righteous. A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored for the righteous. An abundance of food is in poor people's fields, but injustice sweeps it away. One who spares the rod hates his son, but one who loves him is careful to discipline you. The righteous one eats to the satisfying of his soul, but the belly of the wicked goes hungry. James 5, come now you rich, weep and how for your miseries that are coming on you. Your riches are corrupted and your garments are moth-eat. Your gold and your silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be for a testimony against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up your treasure in the last days. Behold,
4:19the wages of the laborers who mold your fields, which you have kept backed by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who greet have entered into the ears of the Lord of armies. You have lived in luxury on the earth and taken your pleasure. You have nourished your heart as in a day of slaughter. You have condemned and you have murdered the righteous one. He doesn't resist you. Be patient therefore brothers until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it until it receives the early and late reign. You also be patient. Establish your hearts for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Don't grumble brothers against one another so that you won't be judged. Behold, the judge stands at the door. Take brothers, for an example, a suffering and a perseverance, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Behold, we call them blessed who endured. You have heard of the perseverance of Job
5:24and have seen the Lord in the outcome and how the Lord is full of compassion and mercy. But above all things, my brothers, don't swear not by heaven or by the earth or by any other oath but let your yes be yes and your no no so that you don't fall into hypocrisy. Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your offenses to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours and he prayed earnestly that it might not
6:28rain and it didn't rain on the earth for three years and six months. Prayed again and the sky gave rain and the earth produced its fruit. Brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins. Thank you for listening to Wisdom Daily Meditation. If you desire to grow spiritually by staying rooted in Scripture, not rushing the word, but letting it take root, I invite you to continue this practice with us on YouTube, at youtube.com or slash at the renewal well. There we gather weekdays at 6.30 a.m. Pacific time for our devotional reset, reading the word slowly, returning to it daily and allowing Scripture to
7:29form how we listen, discern and live. This is a space for nourishment before movement. So wisdom can be received and obedience can be steady. I look forward to meeting you there and may the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord cause his space to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up his countenance towards you and give you peace. Have an amazing day.
