Protests erupted across Pakistan on Sunday after reports surfaced of US and Israeli strikes in Iran that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali, in Karachi, crowds angry over the news breach the outer wall of the US consulate, prompting police to fire tear gas to push them back. Sounds of gunfire echoed near the site, and videos showed vehicles burning outside the main gate, but local officials confirmed the protesters were. Eventually scattered without any injuries reported. Meanwhile, similar demonstrations popped up outside the US Embassy in Baghdad's green zone as well as in other Pakistani cities. In the northern town of Skardu, protesters set fire to a United Nations office building in the usually calm Himalayan region.
