Pro Cornhole Player Charged with Murder

Dane Weber, 27, is accused of killing Braddock Wells, also 27 while driving with others in the vehicle. Weber pulled over in Laplata, asked the passengers to help remove the body, but they refused, fled the scene and he drove off. Witnesses flagged down nearby police, sparking a search. A couple hours later, a resident in Charlotte Hall found Wells's body in a yard. Weber's story drew national attention for his triumphs over a severe bacterial infection as a baby that led to losing his arms and legs below the elbows and knees. He turned to cornhole, signed a pro contract in 2021, won tournaments and earned ESPN features for his skills and spirit.
