A prisoner at H&P Franklin has been charged with murdering Ian Hutley, the man convicted of killing two 10-year-old girls in Sohom back in 2, 2002, Hutley, who was 52 and serving a life sentence, died on March 7 after a brutal attack inside the high-security jail at the end of. February The assault happened in a workshop on the morning of February 26th, where Hutley suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to a hospital in Newcastle, but passed away two days later. Officials say the attack involved violence from another inmate at the prison, often called Monster Mansion for housing some of Brindens' worst. Offenders Hutley had worked as a school caretaker before his conviction for the murders of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, a case that shocked the nation more than 20 years ago. His death has stirred memories of that tragedy, with many viewing him as one of the country's most notorious criminals. Durham Police confirmed the charges against Anthony Russell, a 43-year-old fellow inmate at

1:04Franklin. They worked quickly with prosecutors to build the case, saying there's enough evidence for trial, and it's in the public interest. Russell is set to appear via a video link at Newton A. Cliff Magistrate's Court on March 11.
