Prison Officer's Smuggling Ring Exposed

On April 2nd, a corrupt prison officer named Jason Thompson, a 34-year-old at HMP Isis,

got busted for teaming up with a gang to smuggle, cannabis, mobile phones, and hundreds of

USB sticks loaded with shows, games, and porn into the jail from February to July 2024.

He pocketed 400-600 pounds per drop, acting as the inside man for at least 18 organized

runs, with phone records showing, 28 packages total.

The crew relied on Thompson's sneaking stuff through staff doors, or visitors passing

small bundles during social calls, all caught on CCTV like one clip, where smuggler

Shobanjo, 26, and already inside, ran the show from his cell, directing his brother

Adedayo, an associate Andrew Apoku, at Usay, to source the goods outside.

This mess created real chaos risks in the prison, pumping in kilos of cannabis, and up

to a thousand USBs that fueled disorder among inmates.

Officials say over 50,000 pounds flowed through linked accounts, and raids turned up more

drugs, cash, and even bullets at one spot, showing, how deep this network went.

Police built their case with CCTV, phones, and finances, leading to arrests across London.

Thompson got four years and six months for misconduct and smuggling, Shobanjo, five years

as the boss, Wato, two years and ten months, Apoku, Adusay, four.

Years and six months, plus two years each, for inside dealers, Prince Conato Duomo, and

Nathan Ajay, Adedayo, Shobanjo's still on bail for sentencing.

Detectives called it a slick operation they shut down early, while the prison deputies

stressed this, jails anyone thinking of corrupting them.
