Premier1's Gravity Surveys Target Rochefort Gold

About this episode

Premier1 initiates high-resolution gravity surveys at Abbotts North gold project, focusing on Rochefort prospect to map structures and identify drill sites. The area, near New Murchison Golds Crown Prince project, shows promising gold potential with a strong soil anomaly and high-grade rock chips. Rochefort, in the Abbotts greenstone belt, exhibits signs of a major gold system, with historical mining yielding forty-one thousand ounces at thirty-one grams per tonne. An orientation survey has concluded, with assay results forthcoming. Meanwhile, Premier1 advances with reverse circulation drilling at Yalgoo project, targeting another under-explored gold belt.

Welcome to Sydney News Today, two minutes of news that matter to Sydney. Premier One has kicked off high-resolution gravity surveys at its Abbott's North Gold project in Western Australia's Merchison region. The work targets the Rochefort prospect to better map structures and pinpoint drill sites. This comes as the area heats up with gold potential. Rochefort sits just 20 kilometers north of New Merchison Gold's Crown Prince project, valued at $700 million and already in production. The site features a strong gold and soil anomaly spanning 400 meters by 350 meters plus rock ships hitting up to 11 point. Seven grams per tonne gold. The prospect lies in the Abbott's Greenstone Belt, part of a corridor hosting Crown Prince's 277,000 ounces at three point. Eight grams per tonne, exploration manager Paul Smith, notes Rochefort, shows classic signs of a major gold system. Nearby historical mining pulled 41,000 ounces at 31 grams per tonne from shallow reefs,

but modern work has been scarce. An orientation survey testing anomaly extensions under cover has wrapped up with assay results expected soon. The gravity data will speed up priority targets for first-ever drilling at Rochefort. Meanwhile, Premier One pushes forward with 3,700 meters of reverse circulation drilling at its Yalgu project southwest of the region, tapping into another under-explored gold belt.
