Premier's Boat Trip Strays into Protected Marine Zone

0:00On March 8th, here's the latest out of Sydney, a boat trip set up for South Australia's premiere and a labor election pitch on recreational fishing straight into a protected marine sanctuary zone, while towing lures. The recreational fishing group Recfish SA organized the outing along Adelaide Southern coast on Saturday. The route ran from Oceleven Beach down to waters out the Port Norra Lungajetti, where part of the area bans all fishing gear and taking fish. This can pass through, but lures were trailing behind the whole time. Premier Peter Malinowska's said he's heard the claims but hasn't verified them himself. He defended the local boat driver and fishing experts on board, saying he won't criticize if it was an honest error. The state opposition called it ironic that a promo for sustainable fishing ignored basic rules. The premiere wants others to follow. Recfish emitted it was a regrettable oversight, with no intent to fish or anchor. Recfish CEO Asher Desiree said they'll take responsibility and check in with park authorities
