Police Seize 3D Printed Guns, Arrest 6 in Joint Operation

0:00On April 16th, West Midlands Police just wrapped up a big joint operation with the National Crime Agency and Leicestershire Police arresting six. Folks linked to 3D printed firearms. They nab five men between 22 and 42 years old, plus a 44-year-old woman, all on suspicion of firearms offenses. Officers stopped the car in Loughborough yesterday afternoon and pulled the weapon right out of it. Around the same time, they seized a blank fire gun that could easily be turned into a live fire one, along with materials for making weapons and ammo. Earlier this week, a raid hit a property in Solihull, where they grabbed a 3D printer used in the mix. These ops show how agencies are teaming up across regions to tackle this threat head on. Detective Superintendent Ryan Chambers called it a fantastic result. Stressing that 3D printed guns are rare but deadly and super valuable to criminals. He said this keeps lethal weapons off the streets and protects folks from gun crime harm.
