Police Seek Help to Catch Car Thief

0:00On April 24th, West Midlands Police are appealing for help to track down a man who stole a white Volkswagen right from a house in Birmingham's Yardley area. The thief pulled off the heist by pretending to be a buyer interested in the car, which was listed online for sale. This all happened on the evening of February 20th. He showed up for what seemed like a normal test drive, but while the owner got distracted outside, the guy just jumped in and drove off with it. The impact goes beyond that one theft. Officers believe the same Volkswagen turned up later in a bunch of other vehicle crimes across Coventry, Warwickshire, and Leicestershire areas. To push the investigation forward, police have now released a CCTV image of the suspect, hoping someone out there recognizes his face and comes, forward with info.
