Playford Mayor Resigns from Liberal Party

Playford Mayor Glenn Dockerty has stepped down as Vice President of the South Australian Liberal Party and left the organization altogether after more than 20 years as a member. This comes right before the state election on March 21st. He resigned from his executive role in mid-December and quit the party on February 21st. Elected as one of four Vice Presidents at the party's annual General Meeting in 2024, Dockerty had been involved in pre-selections for. The upcoming legislative council ticket, but pulled out to shift focus. Dockerty says he wants to pour more energy into his local government role and the council election set for November 11th. He previously worked as a casual officer for Federal Liberal Senator Alex Antick and holds no grudges against the party, even praising opposition. Leader Ashton Hurn, this isn't the first shake-up.
