Pitt Panthers Basketball: Major Staff Changes Ahead

Head coach Jeff Capel is losing two long-time assistants, Jason Capel, his brother, and Tim O'Toole for the 2026-27 season. These two have been on the bench with Jeff Capel since he arrived in 2018, sticking around for all eight seasons so far. The third assistant, Milan Brown, remains with the program. Pit's record under Capel sits right at even, A, 127 wins and 127 losses overall, but it's been rougher in the ACC at 60 wins and 92 losses. They made just one NCAA tournament trip and had only three winning seasons. The team just wrapped up a tough 2024-25 year, going 13 and 20 overall with a 5 and 13 mark in conference.
