Hitters kind of go up and down. Jowell certainly goes up and down. But this guy Sanchez.

3:04I mean, he is aces, man. And incredibly, he might not even be the race. Depends on how Wheeler comes back. Man. So it's a good spot to be. It's crazy to say that. Yeah, I know it is. Probably one of the, you know, five or seven best pitchers, a major league baseball. Oh, well, they say that that has changed up is the. Yeah, a lot of people believe that. I'll pitch to hit. Yeah. And a lot of people believe that. So your thoughts on day one for the fills. Look, my main thing was I'm just sitting there watching the game thinking big time contender. Big time contender, which is a beautiful thing. Also good to see. You know, the guys that will be here for a while play well. That would include Sanchez. That would include Crawford. Now, not good to have a guy like J.T. Of course, locked up for three more years, 15 million a year. You know, go 0-4. Obviously, Bryce second half of his contract. Go 0-4. But for the most part, don't you think people feel positive with everything? Not everything. Not everything. Not everything. We had a lot of negativity about the.

4:04Stasis. Yes. Of the offseason. Yeah. Yesterday should make people feel a little bit better about the perceived. Yep. Of the team. And I, I don't know. What do you think? Yeah. And we got the side armor. Just kind of let it go a little bit. It felt so controlled. It felt so much better. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

They need some wins down the stretch. Also to try to be the sixth or five seed. And avoid that playing. And by extension, play an easier team in the first round. Let's go to the phones. 6:04But I love the fact that the nine number nine hitter and the number one hitter gets on. And the top of the line up brings them home. I think you're going to see a lot of that. I think it adds some speed to the bottom and the top of the line up. But one through four. Choose for RBI's. So good stuff. Well, Dennis, I'll say this last year. So they didn't do it yesterday. They didn't do a double steal. But last year they were doing more double steals than they previously had. It was one of those small ball type things. I think Rob Thompson was trying to lean into last year and year four. I'll tell you right now, I will be stunned. If the Crawford Turner combination. Don't have the most double steals of any combo of. That could be fun in a long time. Yeah. In a long time. That will be long time. That will be a lot of fun. I mean, it won't surprise me if they have 10 to 20 of them this year. Wow. Yeah. It would surprise me. That's it. I was going to be up most of the time. I'll get to 10. I'll take that bet. So I think that added to everyone's mood was just high. You know, it felt like everyone was happy to be back. And after what was, you know, and I complained, re-acplained. We've, a lot of people have been upset with the offseason. It did feel like a lot of people were able. And you know, it's opening day. But to kind of put the offseason in its place and, and step forward. And I hope that that continues. Yeah, I'm with you. So you feel more positive moving forward. I was already becoming more positive. I don't, I don't take anything away from one game. I just, I always already feeling more positive as the season came about. So it just kind of confirmed how I felt. So you talked out your honey for five months and then came to your sense. No, no, no, no, no. I still think it was a horrendous offseason.

I am able to separate the offseason from the team and their chances to win like that. You still want maybe not Shwerver. Remember chatty's like, I don't know. I want Shwerver with that money. No, at the beginning of the offseason, I said, if they're going to just re-sign everyone, I would consider just blowing it up. Consider it. That means I don't know. I consider it. But I didn't say I would do it, Joe. You were trying to x out. She's Werber. Honestly, and look, in long term, it might still be the right move. Like, I'm excited to win this year. But if you don't win this year. I don't think that's a crazy game. It's not a crazy game. It's a crazy game. Like, Shwerver is wonderful. And again, I like the Shwerver signing in a vacuum. I think Shwerver ages as well. Like, I am no issue it. But I think there's a decent chance in if it doesn't go the right way.

11:05In two years, Kyle Shwerver can be playing for another team. Let's listen to Shwerver. Yeah, let's listen to Shwerver, because he talked after the game yesterday. It was interesting. He was replaced really good at meeting the fans mindset in a way that people appreciate. Because he doesn't shirk the ills of how they failed in October. But he also maintains some positive energy that he's honest with. He is. This was good. Shwerver yesterday, after the game, after his big game, and obviously a big game for the team, reflective on the past, but also looking forward to the future. Those keep people up at night still. I still think about, you know, not even this last year, different ones, right? That we've lost. But I think that's the drive. That's the determination. That's what keeps you coming back and keeps you hungry to come back for every year. Right? First day is always going to get you excited. It's going to give you the butterflies. But, you know, those games keep you going through, you know, August, September,

12:05and looking forward to getting that postseason, getting back into those positions to hold up a trophy in the, in the find your way there. So, like we said, we got, we got a group here that we feel is, you know, a really good group. And we just got to continue to do what we do a day at a time and play our brand of baseball. If the starting five guys in the rotation pitch well for the most part, I don't see any reason why they should rush Zach to look at it. I do, I do. If he's not playing play ball. Who of course had to be impressed with the fight and fills yesterday. Good morning, Elliott. I mean, it's only the second most impressive thing I've seen in Philly Sports in the past few weeks. But it was very impressed. Elliott, let me tell you something.

18:16And I swear to you, this is not a joke. Well, at least maybe the guy said it is a joke, but he actually said it to me. I did an event two days ago. Guy came up to me and actually said to me, your win against Fritz. It's right on up there with the Eagle Super Bowl. Oh, stop it. I said it. I don't believe you. He's dumb. I swear, well, maybe a little full. But it was actually, Elliott was, I swear to God, it was said to me, swear to God. I mean, you were a bigger underdog. So I guess it was a bigger upset. Yeah. I can see that. That's true. That's true. Elliott Sanchez, boy, they're very lucky to have this guy for a long time, man. What a picture. Yeah, he might be the best athlete in Philly right now. I mean, you just take into account his level of dominance. The fact, no one at the Eagles really had an outstanding year last year. I still think Joel when healthy is elite, but Sanchez is unbelievable. And also, I heard you guys talking about Wheeler. Like, what a luxury to have. The fact that they've developed them and they can still put out on the mound a legit ace to start the season with Wheeler out.

19:17Yeah, we don't talk about the player development of the Philly's often, but they did a awesome job with what Sanchez was when they got him to what he was yesterday. Yeah, no question. No question about that. All right, Elliott. Let's get to some Eagles things. Not a ton of new stuff, but a few things to touch on. So, Jergens talked about his back. Did you know how bad it was? I mean, he's talking about the nerve and all that. And good news to hear him say that, you know, he thinks, you know, it's a lot better. Yeah. What do you thoughts on what Jergens said? Yeah, it was obvious Jergens has been hurt for a while. Just seeing him during the week in the locker room. I did the player's lounge show with him a bunch last year. He clearly was dealing something with last, dealing with something last year. Now, overall, the offensive line did not play well. I think we can definitely point to injury as to why, but the end result, send result. They didn't get good offensive line play last year. The good news is, listening to him yesterday, it does seem like he is in the best place physically that he's been in, you know, almost a year and a half or whatever.

20:17And it's such a huge deal that not only does he feel good now, but he gets to feel good in February, March, April, May. June, July, August. As opposed to last year, he's rehabbing that whole time and entering the season, not 100%. So, their season hinges on the offensive line next year. And I think that was encouraging news here from Jergens. So, the new additions, do any feel like they are bigger than depth pieces to you, Elliott? You mean of like Elijah Moore and Hollywood Brown and those type of players? Well, Hollywood Brown, I think we were aware he'll probably be on the team, but anyone else kind of tickle your fancy. A guy who you think could be a real starter, a contributor, more than a depth piece, because it feels like, you know, now that we're like week four of free agency. It's not that real any longer. Yeah, I mean, I think clearly Tariq Wolin is the player they signed that will have the biggest role he will start.

21:20They gave him, you know, almost as much guaranteed money as they did the rest of their free agency class combined. So, he's the clear class of it. But yeah, I mean, outside of that, it really is a lot of depth pieces. I will say a surprising aspect of one signing they made. Jonathan Jones, the 32-year-old corner that they signed, he got $2 million guaranteed. So, I mean, that's a decent chunk of change for someone who, you know, when they initially signed them, I think projects as best to depth piece. And I thought potentially fighting for a roster spot. But he'll give them veteran depth on the outside. He can play nickel. And it wouldn't completely shock me if they thought he, you know, in a pinch he could line up its safety. But $2 million is, that's like making the roster money. So, I was surprised at how much guaranteed money he got. Wow. Yeah, that is interesting. And Jonathan Jones is considered a nickel first and foremost. So, he was, he was early in his career, but he played a lot of outside the past few years as well. I mean, he had legitimate, you know, good experience at both.

22:23So, yeah, he can move around. That's huge. That's huge versatility. Elliott Max Crosby, kind of been a little off the radar the last two weeks. Let's get back to this for a moment. So, he was initially traded for two first rounders, which I thought was an overpay. Sounds like the Raven's thought it was an overpay. All right. And now there's talk like maybe you get him for less than a wand, which I think is an underpay. If it seemed like the Eagles was actually going to trade for Max Crosby, what do you think it realistically would take? I still think you're probably talking about a first round pick. We're like a second that with some conditions, you know, where he plays 15 games and it becomes the first. At the end of the day, he's still a good player. And I still think enough teams would jump into the bidding. If it was only a second round pick, where you have a hand. But you think he's, but Elliott, it sounds like you're saying you think there's damage goods there. I mean, there's no way, Max. There's no way. There is zero chance a player goes from going to be traded for two first rounders to now potentially being traded for less than a first rounder. Unless he's damaged goods. There's no way. Yes. Well, obviously the Raven's thought he was, the Eagles would have to make their own medical decision.

23:26But, you know, this is not to compare directly to the AJ Brown thing. But like when you're trading for an older player that's perceived to have knee problems, that's just not a great player to trade for. Like Max Crosby is still good at football. No question about it. But how many snaps are you going to get out of him? How much are you going to have to pay him? And I'm sure the Patriots are asking the same thing about AJ Brown right now, right? Like yes, AJ is still a great player when he plays. Is there concerns about the knees? How much money are you going to give him? Can you get a, you know, somewhat replacement or, you know, similar level player in the second round this year or first round? And then in the year, he is AJ Brown. So I agree Max Crosby is damaged good at this point because clearly there's something going on with his knee. Maybe it's not as bad as to other teams it is to the Raven. But there's something going on there for that trade to be shut down. All right, Ellie, let's get to this. We'll wrap on this one. We want to get a lot of Philly's calls in here. Owners meetings next week. Yeah. What's the number one question you're thinking about asking Jeffrey Lori?

24:27I mean, what, what, what's the number one thing to get on Lori on for the owners meetings? I don't mean get on it, but I mean get him on the record about it. Yeah. So all right, I'm going to cheat a little and there's two things. First, I definitely think about his meeting with AJ last year. What happened? How he felt AJ handled it? What made him need to go and talk to AJ on the field? So that's one. But the other big topic is going to be the stadium, right? Like, their lease ends with the stadium in 2032. And that sounds like a far time away and it is in reality. But like, when it comes to building a stadium, it's not that far away. So Jeffrey talking about does he want to build one in Philly again? Would he put a roof on the stadium? Like all those type of questions I think are going to be asked. Well, I know they're going to be asked if Jeffrey could come and ask them. But I think the stadium is the, is the biggest, is the biggest thing. Yeah, good answers. And I'll give you one more that I'd be fascinated. Does how we talk also next week? Yeah. So we hear from how we Sunday, Nick Monday, Jeffrey Tuesday. Is this the one where they interview them in the parking lot and it's windy?

25:27If we're lucky, one year we did it in the blazing sun in Arizona. About 40 minutes. So yeah, it's been different. I'll give you one more. And I know they're just going to say we don't talk about contracts. But it would be interesting just to see how they even react on. So what about a jail in extension? Yeah. No, I agree. I mean, Carter Orherts, right? Yeah. But really, but really, you know what I'm saying? Jalen Herds. Oh, I think they're both really interesting. No, but Jalen Carter, you feel confident we'll probably get one either this year or next. But the thing is, are they thinking we're not giving one to Jalen until he proves a better year in 26? Maybe. How do they answer that on camera? Well, I know how he will answer it. How he would say he doesn't talk about contracts that he loves Jalen. The question would be, what would Jeffrey say? Jeffrey doesn't talk as much. Jeffrey, I think, you know, can sometimes be a little more forthcoming in his interviews. So, yeah, how Jeffrey responds to it would be very interesting. Elliot, are they going to have to amend their approach to negotiating during the season,

26:27to make this team the best possible team it can be? It feels like we've fallen behind a little bit the last couple of years because we were closer and not negotiating during the season. What's part of time, you know, when I was playing here, all the young guys who were worth their salt felt like, okay, if I play well enough, maybe they'll come talk to me about the possibility of a new deal. That's the goal. That was motivating for everyone. Now it just feels like that's gone away. Yeah, it's one of the more surprising things how he's done over the past four years, to really put such a hard line in the sand of not doing in the season negotiation because it does hurt them. Like, they paid more for Zach Bond than they would have had they signed him after training camp or after week two or three. And they insist it is because of locker room or out. Like, they don't want one guy to get paid where other one guy isn't. And I guess to a certain degree, I'm impressed by it, because it's such like an emotional way to make such what a really million dollar business decisions.

27:31And it's good, I guess, to do it. But look, it could cost them to wreak woolen. It could cost them any of the one-year free agents they have right now. Because all those players know once the regular season begins, like they are going to be free agents next year. And that can be a positive and that they're motivated or you could have 12 independent contractors on the team that know they're looking to the next year. 28:31No. I don't think they are. Like, they have awesome talent. I tend to agree with you a little bit, Joe, that they could, you know, make things interesting.
