Perturbations 02: A Conversation with Raymond Nader

A couple of weeks ago, I had never heard of Saint Sharbel Makhlouf, a Maronite Christian formally canonized by the Catholic Church in 1977. Born in 1828, Sharbel lived a monastic and secluded life in the hills of Annaya, Lebanon. Following his death in 1898, curious and miraculous events took place including the incorruptibility of his body. In the many decades since, Saint Sharbel has reportedly appeared all over the world and miraculous healings have been attributed to his presence. In November 1994, Sharbel reportedly appeared to Raymond Nader and left a visible burn mark on his arm which completely healed without a scar in a matter of days. Raymond's encounter was documented and shares many of the same characteristics found in other phenomenal experiences around the world - missing time, telepathy, infinite consciousness, and physical effects.
