Patriots Ponder Trade for A.J. Brown

Team exec, Elia Wolfe, has made it clear they're interested, but not rushing anything. Wolfe, the executive vice president of Player Personnel, told reporters there's no set deadline for a deal like this. The Patriots are always scouting ways to give better, especially a wide receiver. Eagles fans and analysts are watching closely, as moving Brown now, could hurt Philadelphia salary cap hard. Trading him before June 2nd would leave them with a $43 million deadcap hit and no real savings. If the Eagles hold off until after June 1st, that dead money drops to $16 million, and they free up $7 million in space. But any trade then gets processed later, delaying things for everyone. Patriots might have to use 2027 draft picks instead of 2026 ones, which could make New England think twice. For now, it's all about patience on both sides.
