Patience, Grace and Covenant Relationship

Welcome back to Her Authentic Self Podcast Season 4. This episode is directed to those in covenant relationships and those who desire covenant relationship. It is a deep dive into my personal experience with my Fiance as well as our pre-marital counseling journey and the lessons we are leaning from God about what it means to treat your spouse the way Spirit truly intends. 

Currently we are reading "Love and Respect" by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. His writing is full of biblical perspective as well as first hand accounts from other couples he counsels and through intentional reading and the written workbook practices we do as a couple, I have learned:

-We should treat covenant relationship as Kingdom responsibilities, not as entities that will always meet our needs

-It is crucial that we seek God for counsel and not lean on our own understanding in relationships. Our hearts and feelings can be deceiving. 

-Covenant relationships are symbolic for how Jesus treats the church. Future husbands represents Jesus and the future wife represents the church

-Marriage can not survive without surrender to God, without sacrifice and without grace and patience.
