On March 24th, a partial building collapse in Oldham, greater Manchester, sent two people to the hospital this afternoon. Emergency services rushed to King Street just after 12.30 p.m. following reports of the incident. Officials say the injuries are not life-threatening. Five people inside managed to get out safely before firefighters arrived. The structure was wrapped in scaffolding at the time. A big response is underway with three fire engines, ambulances, police, and air ambulance and a hazardous area team on scene. Police have set up a cordon and closed several roads, urging folks to steer clear if possible. The collapse damaged the nearby gas main. Socating gas engineers are there now, working to shut off the supply. Greater Manchester Fire Rescue Service is leading the effort. Tram services are disrupted with no runs between freehold and older mumps, while crews continue their work at the site.
