This parenting shadow has been hanging around me for a little bit, and I keep getting hit with this subtle confusion of "Am I to strict" "Am I a good mom" "Am not letting the kids be kids". The internal pressure of being a good parent can be a lot especially when you were told "Hope your kids never do this to you" or "I hope one day your kids are just like you so you see how it feels". The manipulation as a kid really fucks with you as you grow older and become a parent yourself.
