The Carolina Panthers ended a seven season playoff drought last year and jumped into free

agency with big moves.

They signed Edge-Rusher Jalen Phillips and linebacker Devon Lloyd to bolster the defense.

Around quarterback Bryce Young, their former number one overall pick, they added offensive

line help and brought back his old Alabama teammate, Wade.

Meanwhile, the team drafted why receiver Tateiroa McMillan, who exploded as a rookie

with a 2014 receiving yards, 70 catches, and 7 touchdowns that earned him offensive

rookie of the year honors and made him the top target.

But the rest of the receiving group lagged, with Jalen Coker II at just 394 yards.

Fans and analysts see a clear gap in Carolina's offense, which relies too much on possession

receivers without enough speed to stretch defenses.

It limits yards after the catch for stars like McMillan and puts pressure on Young to

force plays.

Now, eyes are on a potential trade with the Denver Broncos for wide receiver Marvin

Mims Jr.

At just 23 years old, he's in the last year of his rookie deal and showed flashes in Denver's

playoffs with eight catches for 93.

Yards and a touchdown, despite a down year overall.

Those added Jalen Wato, crowding their receiver room so Carolina could pounce, adding Mims

's deep threat speed would unlock the offense and pair perfectly with their young core.
