For the NFL, it's March 9th, here's what's happening. The Carolina Panthers have been searching for ways to fix their run defense after a rough 2024 season. Without star defensive lineman Derrick Brown, who missed the whole year after a week one injury, they gave up a league worst 179, 0.8 rushing yards per game. Brown came back strong in 2025, starting all 17 games, and the team cut that down to 123.3 yards. Allowed. Earlier this year, General Manager Dan Morgan brought in veterans like Tershon Wharton and Bobby Brown, the third through free agency, plus drafted. Florida's Cam Jackson in the fifth round. Ashahn Robinson also bounced back with 5.5 sacks. Still, the Panthers ranked low against the run, and have plenty of roster holes under Coach Dave Canalis. Philadelphia Eagle star Jalen Carter has caught everyone's eye as a possible trade target. The ninth overall pick from 2023 has racked up 13.5 sacks over two seasons, four force

fumbles, and even blocked kicks. He's made two stray probos, and shown in playoffs with three sacks and six games. Lately, reports surface that the Eagles got trade calls on Carter right after extending teammate Jordan Davis. Carter's eligible for an extension, but his rocky start to 2025, ejected for spitting on Dallas quarterback, Dak Prescott, my fuel, the chatter. It really has until May 1st to pick up his fifth year option. For the Panthers to land him, it could cost the first round pick, maybe a second or third rounder, and another choice in 2027. That's steep for a rebuilding team, but Carter could transform their front. Fans are buzzing about whether Carolina pulls the trigger. Special thanks to our sponsor for supporting this episode.
