Panthers Consider Tight End Marlin Klein, But Is It Wise?

Now, draft analyst Justin Mello is pushing for them to grab Titan Marlin Climb in the later rounds. Climb ranks as the 16th best tight-end and 179th overall prospect according to ESPN. Panthers head coach Dave Canalas runs an offense that could suit Climb's skills as a two-way player. The team does have a gap at tight-end, but they've already invested in that spot recently. They took Jotavion Sanders in the fourth round of 2024, and Mitchell Evans in the fifth round of 2025. Both Sanders and Evans are just 23 years old, showing flashes but not breaking out yet. Adding Climb would mean a third straight year of betting on young Titans who need time to cook. Analysts point out Titan isnt a strength for Carolina right now. Meanwhile, the Panthers have other bodies like Tommy Trumbull and Specialteens guys filling the room.

Bottom line, if they're hunting Raw talent, better spots might be offensive tackle, running back, or cornerback. Sticking to the plan with their current tight ends could pay off without doubling down on the same gamble.
