Pakistan's Air Quality Crisis: A Global Concern

0:00On March 25, Pakistan topped the charts as the world's most polluted country in 2025, based on data from air quality firm IQAir. Five particle levels known as PM2.5, they're reached up to 13 times the World Health Organization's safe limit. Out of 143 countries and territories tracked, 130 fell short of that guideline, including the United States. Only a handful like Australia, Iceland, Estonia, and Panama met the standard. Several nations saw real progress, with Laos, Cambodia, and Indonesia posting strong drops thanks to weather, windier, Lenina weather. Mongolia improved sharply too, cutting average PM2.5 by 31 percent to 17.8 micrograms per cubic meter. Bangladesh, Tajikistan, Chad, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo followed Pakistan in the pollution rankings. The 25 worst cities set entirely in India, Pakistan, and China, while in the US, El Paso ranked as the dirtiest major city in Seattle, the cleanest.
