The Green Bay Packers have agreed to trade for linebackers I year Franklin from the Indian apolis Colts. In exchange, defensive tackle Colby Wooden heads to Indy. The swap won't finalize until next Wednesday when the new league year begins. Franklin brings a strong track record with at least 100 tackles in each of his last four seasons. He's set to fill the void left by free agent Quay Walker, bolstering Green Bay's linebacker group. Fans and analysts see this as a smart defensive upgrade, but it adds financial pressure. Franklin's contract runs two more years and is 2026 cap hit top $7 million. Right now, the Packers sit slightly over the 2026 salary cap. They can restructure his base salary into a bonus to free up space since no money is guaranteed. Look for more cap moves in the coming days to seal the deal.
