Packers Lock in Josh Jacobs, Seek Backup Help

General manager Brian Gutekunst has made it crystal clear he wants Jacobs back and his moves back that up big time. Last year, they cut Aaron Jones and scooped up Jacobs right away in free agency. This offseason? No repeats. They even let Immanuel Wilson walk to Seattle on a cheap one-year deal worth $2.1 million, leaving the backfield wide open behind. Jacobs. Fans and analysts breathe the sigh of relief, but the depth chart is paper thin. Marshal Lloyd's been banged up, playing just one game over two seasons. Chris Brookes has only 82 career carries, solid, but unproven if Jacobs goes down. Jacobs hit age 28 with heavy mileage at excepted and 1,840 carries. His yards dropped last year by 400, but blame injuries and a shaky offensive line ranked 22nd in run blocking by pro football focus.
