For the Green Bay Packers, the focus right now is on the restricted and exclusive rights free agents, where the team has until that league year. Start to issue special tenders. Creative free agents are players with three accrued seasons and expiring deals. Teams like the Packers can offer one year tenders worth anywhere from $3,520,000 for right of first refusal. Up to $8,046,000 for first round draft pick compensation if they don't match an outside offer. The Packers have eight such players, and without a tender, they'd hit unrestricted free agency. So far, the Packers extended running back Chris Brooks on a two-year deal worth $4.85 million, keeping him for third downs and special teams.
