Outlier

is something that is very different from the rest of a group — something that doesn’t follow the usual pattern. It can be a number, a person, or even a life situation.

Examples:

1- Most people in his family were quiet and reserved. But he was loud, expressive, and loved being around people. In many ways, he felt like the outlier in the family.

2- Sometimes in life, we compare ourselves to people who are outliers — the rare success stories that seem to break every rule. But an outlier is not the average. It’s the exception.
