On Preaching Styles | How Much Application is Appropriate?

Spare No Arrows

About this episode

Send a text

In exegetical expository preaching, or preaching from the text to explain the meaning of the text, there are two main views on application. One view is that we should stick only to what the text says and avoid application. The other view is that we should feel free to carry the text to new places and apply it to the lives of the congregation. There are risks in both positions, but does the Bible offer any guidance on which preaching style is best? Absolutely it does. We explore it in this episode.
