Tyler Reddick here from 2311 Racing. Another checkered flag for the books. Time to
celebrate with Jamba. Jump in at Jamba Casino dot com. Let's Jamba. No
purchase necessary. BTW Group. Boy, we're prohibited by law. CCNC 21 plus sponsored
by Jamba Casino. Bible. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. And welcome,
welcome. Welcome. Welcome. It's time now for our community connection right
here on K one, the one you trust and on the telephone line. I have Mary and
Mim and she is from OK M and we got the 47 or 42nd annual festival coming up.
We are we going to show our hand today and reveal who's coming.
Good morning, Tom. No, I was we were was coming up really soon. We
decided that all of the craziness going on between spring break and
Easter, but it would be better to launch after Easter. Okay. So we're planning
something special at the office and our actual being in the hall. And so we're
super excited. So it is so so so close. Our festival will be June 5th through
the 7th this year for the adult portion of it. The especially for kids will
start me 29th and go through Thursday June 4th. And it will be here before
you know it. And we are getting so many calls here at the office. And the
buzz is just going really crazy. And so we're we can't wait to announce to you
our lineup. We've known it for a while. So just you know, it is what it is with
schedules and trying to get that all out there. But I did want to get some
sneak peeks just to maybe interest our patrons. And of course they can go to
our website, okmuzic.org to check out more information in the coming
weeks. But our opening concert will be out Will Rock on Friday June 5th under
the stars as has become tradition for the past from I don't know maybe 10
years. And this concert, Tommy, you might want to wear your cowboy boots or some
dancing shoes for some bootstomp and full-colon concert vibe. Okay. Of course they'll
be food trucks, fireworks, drinks and activities for kids. And I mean what isn't
a perfect evening under the stars ending with fireworks with some amazing music in
between that out at our favorite venue Will Rock. I think it's going to be pretty
special. So we all just have to pray for beautiful weather. I hope it'll be in the 70s.
I hope there are no clouds so we can see all the stars. And maybe just a tiny
but five per mile hour within. Just to keep everyone nice and cool. But yeah, we're
so excited. I think everyone is going to be very pleasantly surprised. This year of
the festival is dedicating itself to the celebration and birthday of America. And so we'll
have a very American vibe and we're very excited about that. Our second
concert is going to be what I've been calling the Tulsa, Will Rock, which is going to be
at post oak lodge in Tulsa. And if you haven't been out there, it's just a beautiful
piece of property. It's in the Rolling Hill. It's very, very,
well, the trees and green and it's got all kinds of features. It's got a main
lodge with a bunch of cabins. It has a beautiful pond area. And I think it's just
going to be very, very beautiful. Again, we hope that we have a very
slight breeze with a beautiful clear sky and maybe in the 70s again. And this
time, we're going to switch vibes from our boots, something vibe to take me away
again with a lot of singing, sipping on a nice glass of wine, maybe cocktail
of sunset and just a magical experience with 37 musicians playing pure harmony
on stage. So, get ready for a big lead. And there are also ideas of the win right
in there. If you're so inclined to do that, through trucks, games, a bar, kids
activities and so much more, it's going to be really fun. And the VIP packages for
this concert are very rocking. So you definitely want to check this out. It's going
to be a really special concert. I've been working on it with a dear friend.
I don't want to give it away, but of OKM's. He and I started working on this
and last year. And I think it's going to be a very, very special evening. So please
check that out in a couple of weeks. Our finale is going to also be back in
Bartleville. And it's going to be a beautiful concert in evening with some
crewman and a crewman by a beloved artist who will actually be returning to OKM
music. He hasn't been here in a while. So I'll give you a hint of the
key. But we're very happy to have him back. He was a huge hit when he made his
debut. And he's looking forward to coming back here this summer. So that's a
sneak peek. I don't know if that told you. I don't know if that told you anything.
What the big goal was to try to showcase multiple genres just like America is
a diverse country with all kinds of wonderful cultural and art to offer everyone.
So does music. And so we wanted to showcase sort of what it felt like for America,
a music to evolve in America over the past 250 years. Of course, we will have our
showcase events. And that's where you're going to find most of your
concerts. And that's where you're going to find out about the
music that's possible. Music this time. And it will be standing at
centuries from Gershwin to Billy Joel with an American style. And so we're very
proud that one of our very own versions will be playing and performing at first
up to church. We've had a lot of our class to go back to first up to church. So we're
going to go back to church. It involves a Shakespeare and it involves America. And maybe
Shakespeare's influence on American culture at the time that our country was founded
and thereafter. And so that's going to be a really exciting little concert that we're
having. And that will be out at Willowock. And then we also have two more special
beautiful concerts. One will be dedicated to America's cinema in
the next three years. And then the other one will be 250 years of American sound
and spirit. Maybe you'll hear a little Copeland, Barber, Price, Susa, and more. So I think
that's going to be a beautiful, beautiful concert. We're very excited about these
concerts. And you know, Tom King is very very quickly. It's been an incredible
journey to get here. And we cannot wait to share it with the public. And of course,
we can't do any of this without our intern. The intern applications have closed.
And now we have a huge start to go through all very talented young people. And the crazy
thing this season is I would say 85% of them are from all out of state, ranging all
the way from California to Vermont. You have a student applying from Ohio, from
Texas. It's really exciting. I think you can see it actually from over time. So we kind of
have the whole wide variety in gamut. Another student is from Mississippi. So I think it
ought to be really, really fun to get to meet these kids. We do have our three weed
interns that have already been selected. Mia, who you know very well, I will be returned
to us. We're tickled pink to have her back. Ava will be making her season babies
here. So we're excited to have Ava. And Amboa, who was with us last year, is also
coming back. And so these three young ladies are very hardworking, super smart, super
energetic. They are all business majors from local universities here in Oklahoma. And
we're just blessed to be able to have the talent and the hardworking and dedication
to these kids provide and hopefully end return. We provide some knowledge and skill
set that they will be able to use in their future careers and past. Tom, the one thing
that has really been making our phone ring off the hook is the especially for kids.
I bet it has. Rose has about 100 phone calls a day. And we've already been working
with all of the schools. We've been working with different programs throughout
town and in Dewey and in Nowater. Getting ready for all the kids who will be in summer
programs to get to come to our programming. And wow, it is an amazing season. It is
packed. We have, I think it's over nine stories. And our immersion, music immersion,
events, plans, two brand new puppet shows that have not been seen. Stone Lion puppet
will be returning. And I think it's going to be fantastic. They actually wrote one of
the puppet shows for us in the celebration of America's 250th birthday. So I think the kids
are really going to like it. The art immersion part of all of this is so cool with the
different crafts that Rose have planned that after I could attend because I really
want to make the kids will be making. They're pretty, pretty cool. Rose told me I could
attend. So I'm excited about this making something common. I'll bring it to you.
They're all patriotic teams. Overall I think it's going to be wonderful because the kids
are going to learn about the history of America, the history of music and how it
evolved in America and how we got our national anthem and look at how we got our flag
and who helps create that. There might be a special flag that they're going to
receive and learn how to fold it and properly care for it. We are having a tea.
I won't reveal, although I may have said it before, I don't know, but I want Rose to
get to reveal the big tea that's coming up. And so it has so many wonderful
games and decorations and activities that are going to go with that. And of course,
Laura Lai Barton will be returning for us at the tea to play the harp. It's always so
beautiful. And then we end our children's, especially for kids, week with a huge
finale birthday bash. And the way we've sort of been describing it to those
that we've been describing it to you is imagine and remember a very old, like maybe
1950s, July 4th type of gathering where you have lots of games, you have a
cookout, you have ice cream, music, crafts. And then do you remember that three-legged
parties that you made? Oh, yes. Yeah. Or the W. Sack, Ray, Ningo, giant bubbles.
There's so many games planned. And I think it's going to be super fun. I think
everybody will be smiling. I think we have like 10 different long games also that
you can play. And so Rose will definitely be coming back and sharing much,
much more detail about all of this. Of course, the past ports will be out probably
early May for folks to pick up. And then I know I think it's the second week in April.
Again, after Easter, Rose is delivering I think over 8,000 flyers locally to our
private, public, and homeschool kids. And so that's always exciting. And it's always fun
to be out and about the community and you'll run into a family and a kid will be like,
oh my God, the player in my backpack. And so you know you're doing good when they've
actually looked at it and they're excited about coming. And again, I just will remind
everybody once we launch in a couple of weeks, please get online and reserve your
child's spot. We do request that reservations be made so that we make sure everyone
is safe. We can only have so much capacity in the different venues that we're at.
And we also want to make sure that we have enough supplies and books for all of the
kids. And so I think that's a pretty good wrap up of a sneak peek at our festival,
both for the specific kids that showcase in the main stage. And then if that wasn't enough
pumps, it's also been a little hop and crazy over here because we have Easter going on at the
short of pumps. And so we asked everyone to come over and check out all of the wonderful
things that we have that you can play in your child's Easter basket, your own Easter
basket, or your maybe adult someone else's Easter basket. We have bunnies out the
zoo. We have jelly cats that are all kinds of themed. I mean, whether they're
little chickens to just they have the most interesting things. We have an ear of
corn. We have a carrot. We have a watering can. They have all kinds of
pastries. They're just there's something for everyone. They're adorable. We have
other stuffed animals too. If you're looking for that special little furry for
items to put in your child's Easter basket. And of course we have chocolates,
candies, jewelry, candles, McKenzie child. We have the most adorable museum bath bombs
that are into that. We have lotions and perfumes and home decor. And you just can't
go wrong, Tom. So you got to get over here and get your family's Easter basket items.
All right. It sounds good. And you're right there on doing it for 15 South
Dewey. We are. We're downtown right next to RSU down the street from the
wonderful price tower. And so you can't miss us. We do have a sign up top that says
sugar plums shop and then the big onnings of okay music. So please come by and
a first some reason you can't get out or you're really bored over the Easter
holiday. You know shop online with us. Go to shop okm dot square dot site.
Again that shop okm dot square dot site. And then again don't forget to go to
okm music dot org okm music dot org to check out the line ups and all of the
items that will be releasing in a couple of weeks for the especially for kids,
the showcase and the main stage festival. It's going to be a really good season,
Tom. We're really, really excited. And so am I. Hey, thank you very much for joining
us and kind of giving us a little tease here about what's going on with the festival.
And of course, bringing it all home with the yummy yums at the sugar plums shop.
Right. Mary Lynn. Mem. Okay. And thank you for being with us on our community
connection right here on K one. The one you trust brought to you by our more
and you can't funeral home and tall grass moties.
