Okafor Flips Commitment to Mississippi State

He put pen to paper with the bulldogs, shaking up recruiting in SEC. Earlier this month on April 18th, Okafor had pledged to Ole Miss after two solid years with the Cougars. This switch keeps him in the Magnolia State, but swaps rivals for a fresh start. Okafor kicked off his college days at Cal from 2022 to 2024, mostly coming off the bench. He then headed to Washington State, playing in 32 games during the 2024-2025 season before stepping into the starting lineup. This past year in 2025-2026, he balled out with 11 points and 5.7 rebounds per game over 32. Starts. Then marked a huge jump from his early 5.6 points and 2.7 boards when he first arrived. Mississippi State lands a proven score ready to contribute right away, and Okafor gets a shot at bigger stages in the SEC spotlight.
