Oilers Edge Avalanche in Thriller

Edmonton Oilers pulled off a tight 4-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night at Balarina. Conor McDavid sealed it with a go-ahead powerplay goal midway through the third period at 903. That snapped Colorado's five-game winning streak. Ryan Nugin Hopkins led the way with two goals for Edmonton while Leon Drizidal and Evan Bouchard picked up two assist each. Goldie Conor Ingram took the first two goals on 17 shots before a crease collision with Nathan McKinnon forced him out late in the second. Tristan Jerry came in and stopped 11 shots to close it out. For the Avalanche, Ross Colton, Martin Neckas, and Valyrii Nechushkin scored the goals. McKenzie Blackwood made 20 saves in net. Colton struck first just 32 seconds in, but Edmonton tied it up on the power play soon after. A big turning point came late in the second when McKinnon drew a major penalty and game misconduct
