Jeremiah Smith did not play in the second half. Ryan Day post game said, we talked to Jeremiah. We said we need him for down the line. It's a long season. He had eight catches on nine targets all in the first half for 151 yards and two touchdowns. All the other offensive starters came out for the third quarter. He did not. Is that the right way to handle the best player in college football? Yeah, I think so. I mean, well, you wanted him to get a big workload, right? Like, yes. You and I, well, at least I felt, and I think you felt too. The way that this first weekend of college football has gone, maybe you include a little bit of week zero. He had some receivers popping off a little bit, got Malachi Tony throwing out

3:02Heisman poses every time he scores against Stanford. Was it of the utmost importance that Jeremiah Smith has a big game against Ball State? I suppose not, but I would rather him have one than not given what we've seen so far. So, how do you say? Actually, I think it was nine touches total because he had the one rush, right? That's true for five yards. So, you got him nine touches. He got him the end zone twice. The first touchdown catches it was a heck of a play that he made. So, that's enough. I don't think you need to put him back out there and try to snap out or push it. So, I agreed with not putting him out there for the second half. Rutgers receiver KJ Duff in a devastating loss to UMass had 17 targets on Thursday night. Malachi Tony had 12 catches on 13 targets on Friday night for Miami. He scored three touchdowns. He dropped three Heisman poses as Malachi Tony did. Jeremiah Smith's first touchdown. He couldn't drop the Heisman pose because he was catching the ball against his helmet. And then somehow extending the ball in the air to show it to the ref as he hit the ground. I would love to ask Jeremiah about it because it almost felt like he consciously was trying to make sure he didn't lose possession and that the ball, the ground dislodged the ball.

4:07So, he pulled it out and held it up like a grapefruit as he was going to the ground. I don't think I've seen. I'm sure that's what it was. I'm sure there was more to it than just him like trying to show the official the ball. But I don't think I've ever seen a player on the follow through of a catch. Hold the ball and quite the way that Jeremiah was there. And I guess like he had he sort of like pinned it to his helmet and shoulder and then kind of brought it down and then held it out and was unbelievable. I mean, it was I think like sort of textbook how you catch a ball. I think in that situation you see a lot of receivers turn their body and like try to have a come and do them and like sort of catching in front of their faces or going to their ground on the back. And I think at Jeremiah tried to do that. Maybe he would have caught it because he's Jeremiah. But so like still like reel that in over the shoulder the way that he did. I thought was incredibly impressive. And then the second touchdown when he wasn't falling to the ground. He did drop a Heisman pose in the back of the end to an after he caught it. He did good good for my thought on the Heisman pose. Kind of a weird play like he was looking at Julian saying the defender was like

5:11face guarding Jeremiah Smith and he just kind of big mandal on the back line of the end zone. It got both feet down. But then yeah, you could tell that was premeditated. We didn't talk to Jeremiah after the game. I'm going to assume it was premeditated. It wasn't it wasn't spur of the moment. I think I had eyes on pose now. He was sitting in the black well in watching Miami on Friday night. He was a bunch of guys on that team. Miami knocked Ohio State out of the playoff last year. Malakai Tony. If he has any if Jeremiah has any competition for the best receiver in college football. It might be coming from Malakai Tony. He's watching. He's watching. Of course he's three Heisman poses. I bet they talk too. I think they know each other pretty well. So like, and there's a friendly competition there. But it's competition and Jeremiah is not trying to get on seated. They said during the Miami game that Malakai Tony was the best receiver in the country. And then like 30 seconds later, remember that Jeremiah Smith exists. But Jeremiah heard that too. Jeremiah knows and then he's all he does and absorbs it. We did a thing as part of our pregame prep on billandogshow.com where we had a I have a theory of the game.

6:11How I think that's going to go. You have a theory of the game. How you think it's going to go and we ask a subscriber. Give us your theory of the game. This week's subscriber Ryan B. His first part of his theory of the game was the first touchdown. We'll be scored by Jeremiah Smith on a 48 yard play action pass. He saw the future. It was a 48 yard play action pass. Shout out. Yeah, but did he call the Chris Henry Jr. and Rock Boyd. We're going to be on the field with him. I don't think so. So that was a little wrinkle. We've seen them do that before. Was it last year of the year before? What was the time when they would like run myland gram on the feet? Didn't some I think Jeremiah scored a touchdown. Maybe one time like with myland gram or two times in the 2024 season. Both against Penn State and Oregon where you just like looked up in the middle of a drive and they very intentionally like subbed in Brandon and his and David Adolf. And then like Ryan a play for one of those guys. Like Brandon and his sort of touchdown against Penn State that way in 2024. I don't I don't know that I recall them. I'm stopping everyone but Jeremiah to then throw the ball to Jeremiah.

7:11What did you think of the idea though that the way they used Jeremiah on that play? Julian Stain after the game was asked about his connection with Jeremiah. Like in general he said he thinks it's better than it was a year ago that they've been working on a lot of stuff in the off season. Good ball by Julian Jeremiah smoked the guy. We were we were talking about the coverage on that play and what it looked like and how Ohio State did it. But it was under center near midfield play action which has for a long time been sort of a staple of what Ryan Day likes to do sort of from that spot on the field. What did you think of the play design for the first touchdown of the game to JJ and what did you think of the execution? Yeah good all around I think the ball not I think the ball was under throw and I think Jeremiah just really. I need to slow down a little bit to make sure he ran underneath it still. I think you're going to see you're going to see a lot of that this year. I like I think in the end in this game we did not really see much of Ohio State's under center play action game because they didn't have to show it.

8:13I am fully expecting them to be under center much more next week against Texas. I think that is going to be like a core sort of principle of who they are and how they want to attack teams throwing the ball. Maybe part of that is like the slow going of the run game they couldn't get to it because it couldn't run the ball well. I'm not sure in the first half but I thought that was just sort of like a a taste of what's to come with how this offense wants to attack people. I think Julian's really good at it is comfortable under center he's comfortable turning his back to a play and then resetting again the ball out. I think it helps Jeremiah to give that the defense like the feeling of a run to get guys flat footer to get them running like on that play you had a like a corner with flat cover responsibility. I think they didn't see anybody in the flat and just like ran into the back field on a run fake and all of a sudden Jeremiah is one on one with a safety so that's the idea right you're not going to get many one on ones I think with Jeremiah but if you can create some situations that that allow that to happen then then it's obviously for the better. And absolutely just ran by. Yeah that's safety like that's I don't think there's any safety in the country that can run with him if there are any. Ryan Day said that when you have said this post game when you have a play like Jeremiah like

9:16as as Ryan Day and Arthur Smith were sitting down and talking about the game plan they are talking about we have to get this guy the ball. It is not a unique concept I think Jeremiah Smith is the path to the national championship game for Ohio State like he is the road. That also we would like to we have espoused the idea of the standard as a nickname for Jeremiah Smith I could also get behind the path he is the path. Standards better. Standards better. You've got to get him the ball 10 touches in one half eight catches on nine targets and then the one hand off like I am very enthused by that that you know I was writing about some stuff on on our website this morning and I had mentioned the Duff targets and the Tony targets and I think that that should be a template and somebody I'd responded and said they don't agree with that they don't think you have to force feed Jeremiah.

10:17I don't think making him the primary part of your offense is force feeding him and I think we all know it's like what is force feeding in an offense you know it when you see it we saw it in 2015 when it feels unnatural making a decision that we are going to maximize the best player on the field and build our offense around him to me is not force feeding I did not think nine targets and a hand off in the first half for JJ felt forced. No I mean I think I understand the sentiment behind that comment and listen like this is a game where he's going to be open every time he runs around whether or not Ball State chooses a double cover or not so it's it's maybe a little misleading in that way but I think we know what that feels like when you see it if they are if they are getting bogged down and making sure that Jeremiah gets his touches we'll all know that we'll be able to call it out if and when it happens I'm not too worried about it I thought this was more of just a reflection of like they're not going to allow teams to take him away like people are going to put into their game plan throw multiple

11:17bodies I think we've seen that the last two years against Texas and he's not had huge games there I'm interested to see what Will Must-Champ chooses to do next week when Ohio State goes down there but I I just think like Arthur Smith comes from a place of like we know that'll happen we know it's a bit of a chess match but we're going to come to the table with ways to get the ball to him and this was a lot of downfield passing and this game because I think it can be I think it there is that the plays like we saw get the handoff there's going to be plays where you're basically giving him the ball in the backfield even even via pass and just letting him get it quickly and run with it right there as soon as Arthur Smith showed up and compared him with Derek Henry's like all right I'm not worried about you are Mike knocking the ball enough I'm not worried about about him getting it too much either you know that's to say that it's it can happen but I agree with you like you have to he's the best player in the country like yeah to say like don't force feed him it's like no I have force feed him like if I give him the ball and let him do what he does so there was a display of that today it's obviously much more difficult moving forward from here I would rather at the end of the game be like oh man I am full well well too much Jeremiah there then I'm still hungry for Jeremiah

12:19you cannot leave a game and still be hungry for Jeremiah yeah so which has happened a few times which has happened a few times right and teams are going to try to take him away it's just one of those like you can't ever let it happen so this is not a test of that because ball state whatever they tried they're not going to be able to take Jeremiah Smith away 23 passes I think for Julian San in the first half nine targets for Jeremiah Smith like that and then he was still probably had what like four of them on the two-minute drive right well he came out I think of the two-minute drive he caught the first three passes the two-minute drive like 70 yards so but like that is an excellent use of Jeremiah Smith right and that's not for speeding that's like it's go time it was nice to see Ohio State get in a two-minute drive at the end of the half but in a situation like that that's that's a perfect time to lean into that so I thought nine targets on 23 attempts in the first half was the kind of energy that you want to keep and I do think he I think he was whatever 27 28 percent target share for Ohio State last year that has to be I think for the season

13:23over a third and the the the more it creeps towards 35 38 40 percent I think the better it is and I'm not sure if you can force it too much but I thought I thought this was knowing and making knowing you're you're gonna sit him in the second half and you still get him eight catches for 151 I thought it was like well done all around yeah five on in the two-minute drill five catches crazy okay you want to talk about your guy the good the good guy or the bad guy is the same one we were in our chat during the game over at bilanddunkshow.com we were getting a lot of people saying they were bake curious and then there's a lot of puns that you can make about legend day he was the kick returner he was the first buck I to touch the ball in the 2026 season he did have two

14:25moments on kick returns that were like that's not what you want and then you got him the ball in space and he made moves in the open field unlike anyone we have seen in a buck I uniform since Braxton Miller Braxton Miller and so this you could feel the push and pull of the legend day experience all off season with Ryan Day it starts with with legend day not signing with Ohio State in December he signs with Tennessee he doesn't want to sign with Tennessee there was a ports his family wanted him to so then when he turned 18 he was like no I want to get out of that he's now he can choose to sign with Ohio State that's an odd start to landing in Columbus but he got here and then Ryan Day compares him to Tyree Kill as soon as he gets on campus and then we open preseason camp and he's suspended for the first two practices of camp but then when he comes back he's immediately on the field and important roles and I thought the entire offseason experience

15:25was reflected in the on field experience today because you're shaking your head and then your jaw drops and that is the full legend day and I think that's what you're getting this year and you have to fight through deal with understand the shaking your head moments to get to the jaw droppers because this offense beyond Jeremiah Smith needs some jaw droppers and he feels ready to do that I think he feels ready to do it on offense I won't be surprised if he's not returning kicks in Austin because you can't start drives inside your own 20 yard line and it did that's wise because he sort of like glitched well one he brought it out from six yards deep in the end zone because he was bringing out the opening kickoff no matter what no matter what I'm sure he was told to and then the other one he just kind of hesitated and then I'm having any return it well Brandon and this was saying don't come out yeah yeah and he was like I'm coming out

16:25and he was like oh you're saying no but by then he was at the half yard line yeah so we'll see I think maybe they might go the safer route on the returns next week but I think you got to give him touches on offense next week right just make some hope we saw it till they understand he's like shaking out shaking ball state defenders out of other shoes in the second half but it's just a move man like I saw somebody said like he like Curtis Samuel's a cop I don't disagree but I would like legends like Wiggly or like Curtis was like big and sturdy kid run through some stuff that's not legend because he got dropped by I think a corner raccoon one play when he couldn't quite shake him in this game but elusiveness is what legend has that I just like we we've not really seen that in a while here whether it's on a runner or the touchdown pass where he calls Cuddle a little swing and I think I counted it as six defenders that he made miss just had guys looking like they were on ice gates and that's that's different man so like I'd like to know that you have that to show the world that you have that and then like not use it moving forward I just I don't think that'll be the case so I think I'll have a role to play next week I'm just not sure it'll be

17:28on kickoff returns because I think he's gonna keep Ryan Day up at night with that stuff he has he has to start and stop make a guy die with your feet and grasp it air kind of thing that Braxton had yeah we have seen players at Ohio State it's usually young guys who have that innate talent and then a lot of times folks like us people who love the buck eyes fans who are watching you want to see those guys and sometimes the coaches are reticent to put them on the field it's like why everything on the field it's like well because they need to block it's like well block is good but man if the guy is the ball on his hands he doesn't have to block for anybody we've seen that with receivers I think you there have been many conversations over the years with running backs and pass protection and what is required of them you have been I have been circumspect about legend Bay you've been in you've had the belief that he provides the jet fuel that this offense needs in some to some degree you can't talk about how much more explosive you want to be all off season

18:30and not not use like the guy who would be your second most explosive playmaker behind Jeremiah Smith so you have often talked about him being on the field with another running back so that he is not necessarily like the thing that you think about right is you're playing Texas it's second and four you want to have legend Bay in the game but here comes a linebacker blitz up the middle and it is down to legend Bay to make sure that Julian saying doesn't get destroyed and step up and make a block in past pro is he ready to do that because and if he's not can you sacrifice it in the name of okay well we're not going to play him a ton but we're going to play him enough and when he's out there we can't give the ball every time he's on the field because it tips the hand but we're going to give the ball most of the time and we don't think we're going to pay the piper in a situation like that or you can you not do it can he be next week against Texas the only running

19:32back on the field in important situations sometimes and as the season goes along could he more and more and more become the only running back on the field in an important situation I don't know like I'm still skeptical of that I think although I mean it's not like I don't know that have great past protectors anywhere they're running the opposition like they're still clearly working through some of that so maybe the fact if there's not a clear guy who should be out there maybe that gives legend a better chance of nobody got there nobody can block the guy who's best of the ball in his hands like not the best situation to be in but maybe could be the case like they didn't put him out there today until the game was well in hand in the second half right like I think we even we do need to remember that there like wasn't there a game where like the Mario McCall score twice against Rutgers in a second half you used the name that mean like I'm not serious what this is but I think we do need to remember that like that happens this was a freshman playing in the second half will blow out and he looked awesome I think he'll play but experience tells us that he might

20:32not so so I don't want to like get people too excited about it I don't I don't think we'll see him as the only running back on the field next like next week if he does play I think I think they have a package of plays for him that includes him being on the field with another running back that we didn't see today because why would we that'll that'll help him that'll and I think protect oh I say it a little bit from like him having to pick up a linebacker safety on the blitz or got for a bit of defensive lineman but you know over the course of the year could that grow and develop sure he's just the biggest guy in the world so like what what is the ultimate upside of him as a backfield blocker I'm not entirely sure I don't think that's what matters the most but I think that's the key element that is that would need to be addressed if he ever becomes like this team is true number one running back yeah ice 1212 and the chat is saying put him in the slot sometimes he's that type of player right he's this hybrid running back receiver sometimes those guys fall through the cracks sometimes Curtis Samuel's 2016 you become everything all at once

21:33Ryan Day has said he's in the running back room right now yep so it doesn't mean you can't offset him and do a little but like that that wouldn't make sense but if he's not really doing slot receiver type stuff it's a lot to ask and again this guy's a high school quarterback so he's change he's changing two positions it's not that he has familiarity with either he's learning both anew and again you know who doesn't have to pass protect high school quarterbacks correct you know also the high school quarterback Jalen Marshall Malachite Tony all right I can't stop you just say it you're good are we on the countdown clock to the first legend Bay high-spin pose after a touchdown like Jeremiah has given him permission and you just dropped them a lachite Tony on us okay I need it oh boy it's hard man I know I just I like to say I like that pronunciation sometimes I it's it's one of those things where it's like the horses right they're

22:41they're like they're trying to get out and they want to run free in the field and I'm trying to keep him pinned in and I might give up because everybody like everybody wants to run free and you know who wants to run free with legend Bay and let feel the wind in his hair as he rides bearback across the plains Ryan Day Ryan Day does not want to pen himself in and so and then I will say I watched I was with legend Bay on the field watching him after the game he's signing every autograph he's taking every photo he's hanging out at the end of the game like it's the spring game yeah like he is enjoying it it's like this play he plays he exudes joy I think like just like this guy loves ball and this dot guy does crazy stuff but also like you got to go in the locker room so like Ryan Day can get the post games and legend Bay is like hey anyone else want a selfie and so then finally CJ Barnett like the player development guy had to come out be like come on let's go we got and then he runs in and everyone's chant his name and it's like was legend Bay the last guy

23:47in the locker room he was after the game shoot a freshman who scored a garbage time touchdown be the guy that the whole team is waiting on no if he can do that are you okay waiting yeah I think you are and this is the great thing this is I think has frustrated fans at times over the years right when let's play the vets let's play the safe guy let's play the experienced guys let's play the guys who do everything right who don't have as much juice because because coaches want to lean toward that and if this is an opposite lean everybody will put up with it it's growing it's the epitome of growing pains right but you know who was on growing pains Leonardo DiCaprio it's right look at him now and look at him now he he lived inside of a bear and one an academy of so legend Bay is the Leonardo DiCaprio of the Ohio State offense and you gotta let that guy spread his wings and die in an iceberg let's go yeah I mean I'm with you I just like I

24:48there's nothing about the last seven years of a high state football I know they'll tell you that's gonna happen I know like I am I am fully on alert for like we played Jeremiah Smith Brandon and his Devon McEwer Bojackson and his goby Jackson against Texas and that's it right like isn't isn't it what's probably gonna happen no I don't think I think I think Ryan I think Ryan Day is gonna let him go I hope so I'm not advocating for it to be clear I'm just like trying to I think they're gonna find ten place I think they're gonna find ten place for legend Bay against Texas I'm good if he scores against Texas all bets are off he's from there you like it a horns down in a high one pose and one move it's fun isn't it it is fun yeah he's a really fun player he's a really fun player okay let's let's talk also when we come on and do this YouTube post game show

26:54a lot of fact awful best said just like feet in cement kind of thing low hands little slow feet head down awful we we had been discussing the idea that there was a lot of attention to the preseason justifiably so on the right guard battle which did sort of include Philip Daniels at Wright tackle what if you but it really was sort of focused on right guard and where is Austin Saravold gonna end up and we those interior lineman got a lot of discussion and we had not really talked about Phil Daniels so I asked about Phil Daniels on Wednesday I asked Ryan Dave about Phil Daniels on Wednesday and I said like what did he show you what did you want to see for him to be a right tackle he said consistency but he's got to keep showing it I thought it was a lukewarm response you asked post game Ryan Day about what was happening on the right side of the offensive line and I thought that answer was interesting too yeah I asked if it was the plan to do that shuffle in the first quarter or or not and I did the thing I don't want to do which like I asked two questions and one because you don't really get follow up so I also asked about like another like

27:55more general offensive line thing so maybe I could have got more out of this very tackle specifically but like in addressing that and addressing the shuffle Ryan Day said we have some versatility and then he smiled a little bit and said the competition continues the competition continues which is like yeah I mean I don't I think it is on the table that they don't start Phil Daniels next week you think that's on the table yeah I don't know that I predict it but I think it's on the table I would be surprised I would be surprised if they don't start Philip Daniels I would not be surprised if he has rough moments against Colin Simmons or somebody else trying to get to the passer that they make a move very quickly yeah but I would think they start with Daniels and hope he can rise to the challenge because he has at times do you think it is like no this guy is not good enough to play right tackle to Ohio State or is it what Ryan Day said

28:57which is consistency like when he's when he's the good version of himself he's good enough but he's not that version of himself enough of the time well I mean but if that's the case then I think that he's not good enough then right like you can't you can't have that kind of offensive line play if you want to do what Ohio State wants to do so now the other question is like do they have better options necessarily and I know like Austin Saravail is a better tackle than Philip Daniels but then like what happens to your right guards about if you move Saravail back out to tackle because we saw Gavevan Sickle today we didn't see Josh Padilla Josh Padilla played center with the twos and he was on special teams if they made like a full time change would it be Padilla at right guard and not Van Sickle maybe I'm not sure how that would go I thought I was interesting the Van Sickle was the first one into the game Jake Cook isn't a mix but he's like never played so so I don't know yet that you feel like always like way that when you're making these kinds of decisions um I was pretty disappointing to see like because Philip Daniels had to struggle last year he chose like kind of not to do anything about it and I think like believe in a guy to get

30:01better over the course of an off season and then he goes out there against like a a a Matt team that should be overwhelmed it doesn't look very good early like I thought he settled into the game the offensive line as a whole did in the second half they made some adjustments but um you got a blocking guy one on one like to get beat the way that he got beat on that one pass rush wrapped and then with Julian St. Gainsack I think he's like inexcusable in a game like this especially from a guy who's played as much as he has so yeah I don't know I don't know where they go I'm also a little concerned about you Morgan earned this game he played he didn't he didn't leave the game but he took a nasty shot to his left arm um when he came back into the game he had a brace on that arm but he still played like I don't know like tackle was if he enough for me in this game but I'm like reconsidering some stuff about next week what what's where were you on the offensive line like scale of one to ten confidence level before today before today yeah eight eight and a half and what do you now seven yeah yeah it's um we really

31:09we really got focused on the on the right guard battle and I think justifiably I think everybody believed that he and more looked ready to go um and I thought he looked ready to go out there today mm-hmm before he got hurt right yeah um it is that that they had a lingering positional issue on the offensive line last year that honestly they never got fixed at right guard and that we talked about it all year it was considered all year certainly it felt like Josh Padilla was getting to a point to maybe compete for that spot spot with Tegris Giboll and maybe take that job then he got hurt and that complicated things and they wind up in a playoff game starting a guy at right guard who's never started before who clearly then was not ready for it and had a detrimental effect on them in the first half this can't linger that long because last year like they they got the 12 and 0 despite that this first of all it's tackle my guard second of all the schedules four times as hard this is going to bite them if they don't

32:10try to solve it more quickly so to your I mean that's to your point of like maybe they don't mess around maybe they maybe they do something for Texas um but it is you know it's like here we are that they brought back that you know Tegril left you know Ian Moore left tackle Austin failed started about it right guard but it's like four the same guys and a guy that stepped up and okay let's do this but it is the same guys it is the same offensive line coach and here we are after the opener having offensive line questions one maybe people were prepared for this offensive line to take a huge step and be a force and here we are yeah that's like the if there's a large disappointment from from a game that you win 56-3 I think it's that I think we were all eager to see an offensive line come out and just kind of hone the line of scrimmage and they definitely did not do that in the first half of this game and then you had like individual play that was just not not where it needs to be it's week one teams are rusty like I'm aware of all that and and willing to take it in the consideration like and not get like super paranoid about what's the come um

33:16but you can't stand at a podium and say your offensive line is walking on water and then come out and play that way in the first half against a max game so that's that's part of the thing too it's the way they talked about the offensive line and the offseason which even Ryan Day said at post game right he said like we saw some good things in the second half and it felt more like what we had seen in the preseason um so I guess that's good but like it was just it was just not a good start for for that group um it's good to get things adjusted good to ultimately play well in the second half but that for 35 rushing yards and two sacks in the first half is just like I certainly was not expecting that coming into this game it is a good point by Kent in the chat Philip Daniels played well against Simmons last year and that like the Texas opener they handled Simmons well collectively last year but was it did do not come out of the Texas game thinking like hey Phil Daniels he's from Minnesota he came and showed up and like he looks ready for this I can't remember I think I think in the end Austin Sarval got him more than Daniels did um and also Simmons ended

34:17up like not actually rushing a ton in past and passing situations they dropped them out a lot um great job by Texas great job by Texas but no I mean that's not like he won nuts like like he did not have a major impact on the game last year he had a moment in that Texas game where he was like particularly physical odd something he got he drew a face mask penalty someone I think maybe Simmons popped his home all up and extended extended a drive extended their first touchdown drive because then we talked to Philip Daniels like after the like the week after the Texas game based off the Texas performance and it was like this dude is here to battle and like he's ready for this and then like that so that's a good point of like he played pretty well against Texas last year and so yeah I don't really play bad against Texas last year it is not a guarantee of anything but but also if it's like okay like they you have seen it and that again that's the hard part of this that I think that can be different sometimes if it's like this guy can't cut of that's it we got to make a change there is some proof of concept I think with Phil Daniels there's some there's

35:18on them there's you you wish there was more this is this is a really this is where I think your position coach has to like have a real understanding of his room I have a real understanding of his guys have a real ability to have an honest conversation with the offense coordinator in the head coach and say here's the deal right like this is what's up and it's been hard because like again we talked about a million times it was a different coach it was still Justin Fry but even in 2024 like they got to the right place with the offensive line after their injuries but they didn't get there right away yeah and I was like do you understand your room and so like it feels like they have options here right like you like with the future holds for Jake Cook right like a band sickle did not play well against Miami but there's some things to like against about gay band sickle like Josh Perdia seems like he's been ready for this for a year and a half like there there are options but you have to have somebody who says this is what we're

36:19going to do yeah and I'm curious about Ohio State's ability at that position group to to find a definitive answer when you need it I think it might help a little bit that that their offensive coordinator is an offensive line guy who like everything I think about what he wants to do sort of like emanates from a line of scrimmage I thought it was a joke I asked it's the right day like he went over to the illine with the with the iPad I've never seen him do that before like I know you have the iPad you can make adjustments and he certainly looks at it sometimes as the coach but I've never seen him go over there he spent basically I don't know if it was the whole next position talking with the offensive line but he was over there a long time while while I was on defense and during a TV time out looking at the pad talking to the illine trying to work stuff out so they're they're on it right so I maybe that means I'll have a little more whatever urgency doesn't necessarily mean making a change but I do think they have a little more urgency with this then maybe they would have had in the past and that was the series after Daniels gave
