Ohio Guardsmen Lost in Iraq Plane Crash

The KC-135 went down on Thursday in Western Iraq. Three of those airmen were from the Ohio National Guard. The incident happened during an encounter between two aircraft and friendly airspace. The other plane landed without issue. Ohio leaders have shared their grief over the loss. Governor Mike DeWine and Congressman Mike Kerry posted condolences online. They honored the fallen, especially the Ohioans, and praised the citizen soldiers serving from the state. U.S. Central Command is holding back the names of the service members. They will release identities 24 hours after next of Ken are notified. This crash is part of Operation Epic Fury. So far, it has led to 13 U.S. deaths and 140 injuries among service members.
