Off-Duty Cop Arrests Shoplifter with Weapons

0:00On March 15th, a 37-year-old man from Nottingham has gone back to jail after an off-duty police officer spotted him shoplifting and made in arrest on the spot. Evan Pigeon had stolen clothing worth 150 pounds from a store on Casabullavard back on February 6th, making him a wanted suspect. On March 9th, PC Dean Bardill recognized Pigeon while walking through Beast & Town Center after a gym session and took him into custody right there. A search turned up a meat cleaver, two screwdrivers, and a lockknife hidden in his jacket. Pigeon pleaded guilty in Nottingham Crown Court the next day to theft and carrying a knife in public, landing him a 31-week prison sentence. Nottinghamshire police praised the officer's quick action as a reminder that cops stay vigilant even off the clock.
