On March 27, a nursery and deadly in its owner have pleaded guilty in the death of a 14-month-old boy named Noah Sabanda. The tragedy happened back on December 9, 2022, at Fairytales Day Nursery, where staff failed to put Noah down safely for a nap in the baby room. That breach of safety rules led to a police probe, and the nursery shut down soon after, with Austin pulling its license for good in April 20, 23. Originally, the company and owner, Deborah Laitwood, denied corporate manslaughter charges over poor training and supervision of staff, but they switched to guilty pleas this week at Wolverhampton Crown Court on a basis of neglect. Nursery worker Kimberly Cooxon, a 23-year-old, had already admitted gross negligence manslaughter in Noah's death and all three faced, sentencing there on April 16.
