Nottingham Bus Operator Tops England Survey

On March 27th, Nottingham City Transport has just been named the top bus operator in England by the your bus journey survey for 2026.

The independent survey, based on feedback from 48,000 passenger journeys, gave NCT a 94% satisfaction score.

Greater Nottingham also tied for first place among regions with 93%, up 3% from last year.

Other local operators shown too, like Trent Barton with 91% satisfaction, ranking 11th nationally.

NCT recently opened the new travel center on Listergate, offering advice and travel cards right near the Greenheart area.

Plus, recent stats show Nottingham with the second highest bus usage outside London.

Local leaders are thrilled with the results. Nottingham City Council's Transport Executive called it a celebration of public ownership and teamwork.

NCT's managing director praised his team's hard work amid road works, noting they stayed in the top 5 for a decade.

The East Midlands Mayor highlighted it as a model for reliable, passenger-focused services across the region.

NCT keeps pushing green goals, with 62 new electric single deck buses already on roads cutting emissions.

A 4.5 million pound boost from the East Midlands Authority means 19 electric double-deckers arrive later in 2026.

This builds on their history of innovation and a publicly owned network.
