2:04We received word that a historic evening in Atlanta has been canceled. Are you guys familiar with when it comes to Atlanta, familiar with Magic City? To be honest, I was not familiar with it until I heard the invasion talking about it last year, because they were going to Atlanta for SCC meetings. Yes. Yes, and that's when I first heard about this very historic institution. I flat out refused to believe that you, Jacob Determore, have never heard of Magic City. Well, yes, I've heard of it, of course. I mean, if you follow the NBA. You have an open tab there. No, I've been to Atlanta once in my life, and it was when I was in high school. So, Magic City is a, it's a very well-known gentleman's club establishment. One of the most well-known in the country, probably. And it is very popular with pro athletes. If you remember the story about lemon pepper, Lou?

3:05Is this, is this also the place where John Morant got busted? It might have been, I don't remember if that's where John got, I know that's where Lou Williams got. I don't know if busted is the word, but he definitely got caught out at a night there. A night there, and they have their famous, they're very famous for not only being a gentleman's club, but also apparently their food. One of those being wings, and they named their lemon pepper wings. They named their lemon pepper wings after former guard Lou Williams. They call them, they call them lemon pepper lose now. Well, Atlanta Hawks, and apparently you seem to know a lot about this place. Well, I've learned more over the last couple of weeks, and that was very interested in going to Atlanta. And that will, well, the reason I learned a lot more about it is because the Atlanta Hawks decided that this coming Monday, the 16th of March, they were going to have Magic City Monday. And they were doing a whole thing with merch.

4:05They were going to do a live episode of a podcast with Atlanta rapper T.I. And he's involved with that establishment. And again, it was going to be something that kind of, I guess you could say promotes and honors it, because the people in Atlanta think of Magic City as kind of a cultural institution. Yeah, and if you start doing some of the research on it too, it's very popular and influential in the trap and hip hop scene in that area. And Atlanta is one of the big cities for that as well. So it does have a place in Atlanta's history and culture overall. And so they were going to do a Magic City night. Now there were not going to be any dancers. There was not going to be anything mentioned of nudity or anything of that nature when it came to what they were planning. It was going to be just about what as they called from food to the music to exclusive merchandise. They're excited to team up to create an authentic Atlanta expire game experience. That was one of the press releases from the Hawks.

5:08And one of their principal owners is female. It is actor Jamie Gertz. You may remember Jamie Gertz from the 80s and 90s. She was big then movies like less than zero and twister about her weight is something that you should be doing. I didn't say anything about her weight. He said she was big as an actor. She was big as an actor in the 80s and 90s. Okay, I know this woman. Yes. Yes. And so she is one of the principal owners of the Hawks and she was all on board of this because apparently there's a documentary she's involved with about Magic City. And so this was all ago a couple of weeks ago and then a couple of NBA players started to make their feelings known. One being Spurs Luke Cornette. Al Hoerford then joined in. How they just didn't think it was the right thing to do and bringing up exploitation of women and this, that and the other. And so the NBA yesterday, this just came down.

6:08The NBA stepped in and said, yeah, we're not doing this. We're put, we're, we're canceling this to be fair. What kind of vibe are you going for at games? Is this supposed to be family friendly affairs because on the one hand. Yes, even if you're not having dancers there, every kid has a phone now and can look up what Magic City is within 30 seconds. You're not hiding anything. On the other hand, keep watching NBA presented by all of our gambling sponsor. Oh, and on the family, on the other hand, how many NBA players do we have playing right now that have been arrested for domestic violence? Or gun charges or drug paraphernaly? Yeah, no, so I, that's what, that's what's really weird about this is that if there's no actual, I see both sides of it where there's no actual nudity or anything being promoted. You're celebrating the culture and they're still going to do apparently some things still related to the night. Like, for example, they're having a lane at rapper T.I.

7:09He's going to perform there. They're still going to sell the wings, but they're taking out some of the merchandise. So they're still going to, they're not doing the podcast thing now. They were going to do a live episode of a podcast that's apparently connected to Magic City at T.I. Was going to be part of that. But T.I. is still going to perform it halftime. Like you said, they're still going to do Magic City night. They're just going to not call it. Sort of. Sort of. But like all the limited merch that they had prepared for that is they're not going to sell that now. Look, I get the whole idea of the family friendly thing. But at the same time, as we were just saying, it is, it is kind of a, that place is kind of a cultural institution in Atlanta. If you're in Atlanta, you know what Magic City is. So it's not like, it's not like you're springing anything on the families of Atlanta. Because it is a well known thing there. I look, I was very surprised when this got announced a few, a couple of weeks ago when I saw it. I was like, okay, well, that's a choice. You know, it kind of caught me off guard too, that they would actually,

8:10an NBA franchise would actually have a promotional night connected to a gentleman's club establishment. But at the same time, when you realize what that place is culturally in the city, you understand it from that aspect. And I think it's kind of interesting that the NBA is now stepping in with their selective decision of, you know, we want to make things family friendly and, you know, all nice and good for the families. Yeah, but at the end of the day, the ironic thing is that Magic City probably getting even more publicity and interest because of the fact that they were, quote unquote, canceled. Now they can put that on our, see why we were too spicy for the NBA. And the lemon pepper lose were just too peppery. Yeah, you can get all of this extra advertising, everything out of it. And the NBA is mixed messaging just happens to be across all sports right now because the NFL will stand for some things. And then they'll allow gambling on all of their markets and their.

9:12So it, it's very tough to say which side I would land on if I had to make the decision. So I'm just not going to say it's 648 on the ticket. No wings for pee according to the NBA.
