Nored Returns to Butler as Head Coach

0:00On March 25, Butler Bulldogs have tapped one of their own for the head basketball coach job. Ronald Nord, a former point guard who starred for them from 2008 to 2012, is taking over. He helped lead the team to back-to-back national championship games in 2011 and 2012. Nord picked up Horizon Defensive Player of the Year honors twice as a player. He's been coaching since 2012, mostly at the pro level. That includes recent assistant roles with the Atlanta Hawks over the last three seasons, plus time with the Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets, and Indiana Pacers. His college assistant experience is limited to one year at Northern Kentucky from 2015 to 2016. He also ran programs as a head coach at Brownsburg High School early on, and with the Long Island Nets in the G League from 2016 to 2018. Nord steps in after Thad motto retire following the 2025-26 season. Butler spaced tough times lately, with back-to-back losing records and no winning Big E's finish since 2020,
