"NOAH KAHAN - THE GREAT DIVIDE"

I'm excited for you guys to see it too. This documentary captures too much more than I ever thought the world would see about myself. And of course my creative journey and my family. I'm so nervous about it because it's personal and some things I touch on are painful to think about. It'd be reminded of you guys. See that's the problem. And then of course, I lost my place. Alright, I remember though, that anything scary or hard is usually worth sharing to the world.

1:02I know that's right. Give them some play! Yeah. Maybe it will reach one of you in a time when you need it. Maybe you'll see some of your own family in mind. Either way, I hope you love it. Noah Cajon out of body, out April 13th on Netflix. Now ladies and gentlemen, after that very dramatic reading, if you don't know, we're getting it to the one and only Noah Cajon that just released the entire body of work titled The Great Divide. And of course, that album is 17 tracks in an hour and 17 minutes in length. But how do I know? That's not it as the host of Liliqui that I was just talking about is for his Netflix special. As if you don't know, he has a whole documentary like I just read out of body for Noah Cajon. And when it comes to that specifically, it was released just before his album The Great Divide.

2:04The director Nick Sweeney, well, the director is Nick Sweeney. And of course, it goes over a lot of things like he hinted on in his, you know, in my dramatic soliloquy. He hinted on a lot of things such as mental health struggles, that's in the film, anxiety, depression, body dysmorphia. I'll be interested to hear more about that. And creative challenges such as severe writers block difficulty recreating stick process, a stick season process. And then of course, his personal philosophy is quote, not curing it, but confronting it. And then that's not it, ladies and gentlemen. As you already know, Noah Cajon has been notoriously affected the masses as I believe. Let me see if I can find this real quick. So The Great Divide is currently the 45th most played track in the world. When you look at Porsche Light, it's currently the 72nd most played track in the world. And then let me see. And then you look at his album, well, his past album, not this one stick season. That, hold on, let me make sure because you know, stick season came out in October 14th, 2022, which is insane because guess what?

3:12It is still the 14th most played album in the world. So it's safe to say when we're getting to the album, The Great Divide, especially with the way that it's going to notoriously affect the masses is already indicative of him having a tour. So guess what, ladies and gentlemen? Not only is he a tour, but he also has a little tiny desk, literally it's called the tiny desk. So if you haven't heard of tiny desk, because a big thing from musicians who are actually talented, because if you don't know playing different instruments or if you're not playing just singing, showcasing your talent is a big thing on NPR tiny desk. And when Noah Cajon went on there, he basically performed orange juice, American cars, The Great Divide, paid time off. And he had six additional musicians for his band, and you can kind of see him in the back right here, analytic dreams video on Spotify to see the video along with the audio. So when you look at Noah Cajon, I do believe that he is one of the more interesting musicians in the landscape of music because of his transparent nature.

4:20And you already know who my favorite artist is. Is it okay? I got my dope on me. So whenever an artist is able to articulate and basically L.A.Q. in music form, I think that's the greatest way to affect the mass especially musically. Now the reason why I say that is because not only does he have the documentary, not only does he have the tiny desk concert is out now on YouTube, but when you look at it, actually, let me see if it's a trending on YouTube. It's not okay. Let me see tiny desk. It's not okay. So anyways, when you look at Noah Cajon specifically, as far as additionally outside of the tiny desk outside of the Netflix documentary, he's also going on tour. If you don't know his tour, that he is currently going on. I was trying to see when it started. So the great device tour and basically started June 11th and it ends August 31st.

5:21So I don't think it started. Why should we make it June? Yeah, so it has to start it. When it comes to June 11th through August 31st, he's going to 20 plus cities, nearly two dozen. Of course, the notable venues is Fenway Park and city field. So if you're going to go to one of his live performances, just know I let you in on it as far as you know when it starts, let you know what it ends. But when it comes to the in between, you will have to go to like ticket master site. Of course, this is not an ad. This is for connoisseurs of Noah Cajon that wants to see him live. So anyways, when you look at the album specifically, you start to realize that not only is this a long body of work, but I believe that has been quite the hiatus since the last album. If you don't know, because we've covered, how many times have I covered Noah Cajon? I've covered Noah Cajon in 2024 for six season. Well, that's when I covered it. Obviously it came out of 2022. And then you have pain as cold water. And of course, the great divide I covered the single. But when you look at the album specifically, I guess he hasn't went on the huge hiatus because he had live from Fenway Park.

6:28He dropped that August 30th, 2024 and DSPs stick season forever. Okay, so he dropped all type of stick season. That's probably what it was. That's probably what I covered because the original stick season came out October 14th, 2022. So when you look at the continuation of stick season for him to transition from that and to get into the great divide, there are already showcases that he's ready to dive into another bag as far as a discography being. Or as far as a project being considered because it seems like stick season has been remastered for the past two to three years, you know, not to be disrespectful, but that's what seems like. But obviously, this man is highly accolade, like the amount of accolades he has under his belt is egregious as Grammy nominations amount to two. He was he had best new artists in 2024, best country duo slash group performance for cowboys cry to with Kelsey Bellarini. Those are two nominations, but he did not win any of those, but still be nominated as a huge deal, especially in a music field, because once you're nominated by the Grammys, of course, the recorded Academy, the high prestige that it holds every single time you appear on a platform.

7:45They will be remisted and I say Grammy nominated artists, right? It's one of the highest accolades you could have as a musician. Now to me personally, you know, not to sell like Drake, is it okay? I got my dope on me. But I think he was on the nose when he said the real Grammy is the people who show up for your content day in and day out. Like if you was to support, if you was to have the amount of success like Drake on the charts, or would you rather have a bunch of Grammys. It's really not, it doesn't correlate like you think it would. If it did, artists that of course they had their troubles in the past, but artists like Nicki Minaj, artists like Chris Brown, obviously you know what he did as far as messing up his status in the game. But let's just say sales are not always indicative of gaining a bunch of wins or trophies. So that's why I believe your audience showing up for your art form is the real Grammy. The actual Grammys are just another additive on top of that.

8:47So anyways, the reason why I say that is because Noah Cajon did not stop there as a hard radio music. He was a, he won best new artists in 2024. Billboard Music Awards. He was nominated for top rock album for stick season. Stop a top rock artist in 2023. And the Brit Awards. He was nominated for international song with stick season. So very accolated, right? This album out now on all DSPs is going to have a huge mass of faith. And when you look at him being compared to the field, I think his own, his real competition is probably, let me see if I can find it. So his real competition as far as albums wise, it's Ella Langley, of course, because her dandy line album just did 168,000. I'm thinking because she just did 168,000 first week, her second week at the very least is going to do 70 to 80. So that's basically what you're battling with. I don't think he's like going to lose out. I think he will end up getting the number one. As far as first week sales.

9:48Now, I know a lot of people are going to say Kalani, but when you look at her single folded, I think that's going to end up performing bigger than the actual album that just released for Kalani that we're about to get into in the second. But his biggest competition as of right now, I think is Ella Langley Morgan Wallet. I would say BTS, BTS right now, unless they put out like a deluxe, I think they're probably going to be in that three to four slides. So that is Noah Conhan's biggest competition as far as albums. Now as far as singles, that's a much different discussion because great divide is currently the 45th most played track in the world, been on the charts for about 11 weeks. You look at porch light. It's the 72nd most played track in the world has been on the charts for about five weeks now. The tracks that is above that is extension, extensive, especially when you look at 40 plus tracks above it, of course, being the 45th most played track in the world as a monument to accomplishment by comparing it to the other higher performers such as a choosing Texas from Ella Langley, man I need from Olivia Dean. I just might buy Bruno Mars. I just listed off the top three most played tracks in the world, right?

10:50Competing with that off of the album, the great divide. I think that's a little more difficult. I'm not saying this impossible. But I think the easier pathway is to focus on trying to get the number one as far as first week sales. Because I do believe Ella Langley could mess around and get the number one first week sales two weeks in a row. It just depends on what type of marketing strategy her team does compared to Noah Khan's team. So that's basically me just breaking down the music field as of right now because when you look at Noah Khan, he's more in that pop rock lane. At first I was thinking he was country, but in all honesty, he's more of a pop rock type of artist. And that's how stick season came across. Some people may quantify it as folk pop slash American continue. Oh yeah, the folk pop. And of course, when it comes to this album, I'm not going to spoil it, but let's just say there's a lot of increased piano presence. So he definitely heard y'all as far as the, I don't even know what to call his fan base, but the Coney is out there. The Coney is maybe a disc. I ain't even trying to show.

11:53So when it comes to Noah Khan, if you use one to see him live, just know he will be live for his tour. I forget what the tour was called again. The great divide tour starting June 11th ending August 31st. And of course, once again, the tiny desk is out right now in the Netflix doc. See if I can find that.
