NFL Teams Make Franchise Tag Decisions

NFL teams have until 4 p.m. eastern time on Tuesday, March 3rd to slap franchise or transition tags on key players ahead of the 20. 26 season. These tags lit clubs hold onto their stars before free agency kicks off, locking them in for another year at a set salary. So far, just three teams have pulled the trigger. The Atlanta Falcons tag tied in Kyle Pitts with a non-exclusive franchise tag back on February 24th. Dallas Cowboys used it on Widersheever George Pickens, and the New York Jets went with Running Back Breeze Hall, both non-exclusive. These non-exclusive tags mean other teams can still throw offers at the players, but the original team can match any deal or grab two first round. Draftpicks as payback if they pass. The exclusive version blocks all outside offers completely, while the transition tag just gives the team a chance to match whatever contract comes.
