You are listening to the daily round up here as part of the reality Steve podcast. I'm your host, reality Steve. Thank you all for tuning in on this Friday. Good show for you. I got to tell you what's coming up next week because it's going to be a wonky week. Let's travel week again. We're all going to talk about Big Brother last night. Rick Devons saves his ass by winning the blockbuster, but I have some thoughts on that blockbuster because it was interesting and I'm questioning his strategy. Also want to talk about the BB blockbuster tonight, little backstory with their special guest. Taylor Frankie Paul, another trailer or a clip from season five of Secret Lives of Mormon
wives dropped yesterday and they gave away the bachelor at ending. Okay, now that you haven't known this for five months, but they officially gave it away and they're going to give it away once season five of Secret Lives airs next week. And then I've got a first world problem thing to talk about and it's more along the lines has doesn't have to do with me, but somebody that we know in bachelor nation posted something on their Instagram yesterday. So I want to relate it to what I would do in this situation and we'll get to that right now. So next week is travel week for me and I leave on Wednesday again. So you are going to get a normal daily roundup where I record it here at my house on Monday's episode Tuesday's episode and Wednesday's episode. But Thursday's daily roundup will be pre recorded Thursday's obviously weekly podcasts will be pre recorded Friday's daily roundup will be a pre recorded interview and then both
on my sports daily we're going to have basically an interview on Wednesday, the weekly podcast of the NFL Survivor Show with Rachel Juarez on Thursday and then my picks on Friday for the second week of college football and the open and week of the NFL. So next week we're going to get some interviews. I don't want to jinx them yet. I haven't recorded them yet, but I'm set to record Monday and Tuesday of next week. So Monday and Tuesday next week going to be very, very busy for me, but just wanted to give you a heads up next Monday because I don't come back until Monday the 14th, but I will record a daily roundup and a sports daily in my hotel room on Sunday night. And I probably won't watch much big brother next week because Wednesday night it'll be kind of starting when the football game between the Seahawks and Patriots is ending Thursday,
same thing. The Rams 49ers game will be still going on when eviction night happens. So I'll figure it out, but probably I could put a lot of social media videos up maybe a couple when I'm in Vegas. I don't know. I just have to determine how I'm going to do this. I play it by ear when I'm out there, but I do like to have stuff in the can because you know, especially when I'm in Vegas, I don't like to record videos. I don't have to worry about a lot of get back to my room record, upload it, all that stuff. Basically Thursday on the daily roundup and the weekly podcasts pre-recorded interviews, Friday pre-recorded interview, sports daily is going to have pre-recorded stuff Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. All right, let's talk about big brother last night. Rick Devins saves his butt and that was a really fun BB blockbuster. Now we saw that exact same BB blockbuster last season, but it was interesting because if I'm remembering correctly, it was you got to drop your ball, go into a ball pit, take
out a ball, lean over a railing, drop it into a cylinder that is literally probably only an inch bigger than the ball that you're dropping. So yeah, it's not easy to do. And they did this last season. I can't remember who won it, but Devins, if I'm not mistaken, Devins got hit, got the first two in like he was up to zero to zero. He got two in before Taylor and Lala got any of them in. Now Lala only got one in the whole time. So we'll just talk about Devins versus Taylor. Devins went up to oh and then if I'm not mistaken, Taylor went up three to two and then Devins after Taylor was up three to two, Devins tied her up at three, but just the way they were running up and down the stairs, Taylor had a shot to win it. She had three in there. She was coming up the stairs with a ball while Devins was going back down to get a ball to possibly get his fourth. And did you see how close Taylor was to getting that fourth ball in?
It's all over social media. It literally went in and out and sucks for her and then Devins dropped his and ended up getting it and he got the fourth ball in. Now this could be, if you were watching that, I thought Lala and Taylor did it correctly in that they might have had an advantage because maybe they can bend better than Devins can, but Taylor put her stomach on the railing and bent over as far as she could because in a challenge like that, clearly the closer you drop the ball to the cylinder, seemingly the easier it becomes. The higher up you drop it, there's more chance for the ball to move in the air and you make a mistake. And Devins either wasn't trying to get as close to the cylinder or maybe he physically
couldn't because he couldn't bend over because he's a bigger guy than Taylor who was very bendable. Did you see her? Like I felt like she was a full, I don't know. She was dropping the ball seemingly a full foot closer to the cylinder than Devins was. Go back and watch it. Devins leaned over the railing, but I felt he could have leaned more. Dead matter, he ended up winning in the long run, but if he would have lost, that would have been my biggest complaint is he didn't reach far enough, but again, it could have been a physical thing because he does kind of have a dad bod. And maybe he just couldn't get his stomach. He couldn't bend like Taylor could. Taylor was like a pretzel on that thing. And she was like almost completely bent over. And I want to say she was dropping the ball at least a foot closer to the cylinder than Devins was. I just felt like when I was watching Devins drop, I'm like, why isn't he reaching further
down to drop this ball? It just seemed like he could have reached more. Maybe that was just me. Did anybody else notice that? I felt like he could have reached more and he was dropping it from too high up, but took a 2-0 lead. But then he missed like three or four in a row while Taylor was able to get three and go up three to two on him. And then he tied her at three and then she missed and he made it. And he got four in before she did. So Devins advances and by all accounts, Barrett was going to flip on the crossovers and Devins would have been gone if he didn't win. So Devins advances as of this recording, I do not know who won HOH. I don't think it's happened yet. I'm recording this a little later than I usually do. And the feeds have been down for an hour. So as I'm recording this, the HOH competition is happening. We've got another probably 12 to 15 minutes in this podcast. I'll keep refreshing the Twitter accounts and maybe just maybe if the HOH competition happens
to finish within the next, I don't know, 12 to 15 minutes will have the answer. We did find out that BB Comics is going to be the veto competition this week. This is for BB Blockbuster, not BB Blockbuster, BB unlocked tonight. You saw at the end of last night's episode, comedian actor, author Jay Moore is going to be the guest on the celebrity guest on BB unlocked tonight. And I've got a past with Jay Moore. In my Jim Rome days, Jay Moore and Jim Rome were very good friends. I probably saw Jay Moore at the Irvine improv, at the spectrum down in Irvine, along with the Addison improv here in Dallas. I probably saw Jay Moore on four different occasions because I worked for the Jim Rome show. I met him a couple of times when he came in studio and guest hosted. I kind of knew his manager, Barry Katz at the time.
And Jay was always like, hey, man, anytime, you know, you won't take it. You come see me just hit up my manager, Barry. And every time I called Barry, I always felt weird, but he always hooked me up with tickets. And I haven't seen Jay do stand up in 20 years. And at that time, he was married to Nikki Cox, who was from unhappy ever after. And then she was on that Vegas show, forget the name of it. But he is now married to Genie Bus, the owner, well, not the owner of the Lakers, the former owner of the Lakers. Former, she's the daughter of a former owner of the Lakers, Dr. Jerry Bus, who is obviously passed away. But he's married to Genie Bus, which is pretty random. But, you know, I didn't know at the time, because Jay and I weren't like close friends. I saw him a couple of times when he came into the studio, but Jay was a big time drug addict. And he bottomed out and ended up going to rehab, but he's been sober before I think. I don't know how many years, but he's definitely talked about it a lot. And it's just weird to think back on it back then that he was definitely, I always
stopped. There was something a little bit off. I didn't, I couldn't prove that he was on drugs back in the day, but just the stories that I heard, I was like, yeah, little off. But, you know, Jay was also on Saturday night live at one point in the famous sketch. How much you bench? What a million west of is was the host. That was a classic. He was one of the first people to ever do Christopher walking. In fact, I think if you were to ask anybody in the comedy world, who did the first walk in that everybody started remembering? It was Jay Moore and he did it on Saturday night live quite a few times. But anyway, good to see JJ on BB unlocked tonight and just brought back memories of me seeing him and stand up back in the day. But yeah, I haven't seen him do stand up in probably 20 years, but I have seen clips of him. I think he's believed he's got a podcast now. And I could just tell definitely sober compared to the way he used to be on stage
and kind of in person versus watching clips of him on his podcast now. Yeah, seems to be in a much better place for sure. So we finally have some Taylor Frankie Paul news to talk about. That's not related to any sort of custody battle, not related to Dakota. Well, it's kind of Dakota related, but nothing to do with their child. So on the get real podcast yesterday, they showed a clip of the upcoming season of secret lives of Mormon wives season five that comes out. I believe it's next week comes out on Tuesday. I believe all five episodes. Anyway, they played this clip and let's discuss it afterwards.
But here's the clip that they played and it's Taylor Frankie Paul talking to the other women about what happened on her bachelor at season. He looks like I didn't start me that till people said it around me. I actually did not see the night of him. I don't really have the same initials. Yeah, that's both from Idaho. It's so weird. That is all see I didn't learn all that so later. And yes, he did get down on money and proposed, which I was shocked. I was shocked. He wasn't going to be told me to like we weren't. I'm doing that. And did you say yes? Yes, yes, yes, yes, I did. Then I come home. And then what? Obviously, we're texting. When are you coming home? When are you going to be home Dakota? Yes, I don't know how it led to everybody came over. Taylor, I think I know how that happens. So if you didn't catch it in the very beginning, they're basically talking about Doug. And Taylor is saying like I never put the connection between Doug Mason and Dakota. And they're like, I think it was Jesse that said they've got the same initials. They're both from Idaho. And then obviously everybody that saw Doug's pictures are like, they kind of looked at,
they kind of look alike. Kind of the same facial features, same kind of beard. Doug's much more of a model type look. And Taylor sitting there going, yeah, I never had the connection. Yeah, but yeah, again, she didn't know that everybody was calling him Doug Dakota while filming was going on. And nobody was surprised that she ended up picking Doug at the end of this thing. And she admitted in that clip that we weren't thinking about getting engaged, but they asked, did he propose? And she said, yeah. And then she said, you know, Dakota's contacting me once I was done. And he's asked me when are you coming home and all that? And she says, I don't know, but he ended up at my place. It's like that's about as ridiculous of an excuse as you can come up with. How did he end up at your place? I don't know. Could you allow them to like, come on. Now what's interesting is again, I heard this back in December after it happened. Filming ended in December within a week. I had heard that she had slept with Dakota the night she got back from filming as an engaged woman.
She basically just confirmed it. And we will see that on secret lives of Mormon wives that comes out next week, which makes me think now if they're going to allow that to be shown on secret lives, why in the world would they even air her bachelor at season? You know, it's one thing for reality Steve to put out the spoiler every year. It's not like ABC's not going to air their show because I spoiled it. Clearly it's happened numerous times where I spoiled the show before the season started or during the season, it's not like, oh, we got to shut it down and not air it. Now they have a season where their own lead is admitting what happened. Admitting, that's the guy she chose admitting he proposed to her and admitting after she got home, she got back with her ex. What is the point of airing the bachelor at season? I don't think there is any point to air this now. If they do, they have to dump it on a streamer. If they do dump it on a streamer, are they going to do one episode a week? Are they going to dump all the episodes at one time? Nobody knows because ABC is one of the least transparent networks out there.
They never let you know what's going on. You basically have to figure it out all yourself. It's a joke. And at this point, I don't even care. Obviously I will cover it if they air it, but I'm not dying for the bachelor at season to air. I don't even think it matters. I think they could easily just move on. We'll get our bachelor at or we get all bachelor season in 2027. We'll get bachelor in paradise in 2027. If it hurts because we don't get to see Taylor's guys on a show, I don't think that's going to stop them for putting Taylor's guys on bachelor in paradise next year. They're going to be most of the guys, even if they don't air Taylor freckle Paul season, he can be like, well, we never saw them. So how are we going to know anything about them on bachelor in paradise? Well, you'll get to know them on bachelor in paradise, just like you would have gotten to know them on Taylor freckle Paul season. There's nothing they can do. I don't care if they air it. I'm not dying. I think the longer we get away from this, we're coming up on 10 months now since they started filming Taylor freckle Paul season and it hasn't aired yet.
Is it really necessary to air it? Is anyone dying to hear this thing? I don't know. I don't think so. I mean, yes, there's plenty of fans out there, especially. Her fans that are like, please air the show, but it's pretty amazing. And I don't really. It's just we're so far removed. It's like not it just every day that they don't give us an announcement and every day that the bachelor at Taylor freckle Paul season isn't airing every day that happens or it doesn't air. It just feels like it becomes more and more less row. That doesn't make any sense. It becomes less relevant or less important to air, right? That's the way I'm looking at it. But if it does air, yes, I'm still going to cover it, but you talk about snark. I mean, that's all it's going to be. It's a joke. It was a joke back when I found out the spoiler when I posted the spoilers in March.
Said this is a joke. Like everything that everybody said, the second Taylor freckle Paul was announced as the bachelor at people were saying she's not over Dakota. There's no way this is going to work with whatever guy she chooses. And that's exactly what ended up happening. She couldn't wait one day as an engaged woman to not have sex with Dakota. So again, do we really need to see this quote unquote love story? Even if she has made up with Doug and she's with him now, I have no idea if she is or not. I don't really care about Taylor Frankie Paul's love life at this point because any man that she's with right now is number one, clearly just a retaliation to Dakota being with Shania and two, she doesn't need to be with a man right now. She needs to focus on her family. She has no reason to be in a relationship right now. She can convince herself that, oh, this is what I need. And oh, this is stable. And finally, I have someone that treats me better than Dakota. She's not ready to be in a relationship has nothing to do with the guy.
Whoever it is, whether it's Doug or this other guy that's popping up on her Instagram, it doesn't matter. She is not ready and capable to be in a healthy relationship when she's dealing with so much shit behind the scenes with her television show, with her family, with her children. She doesn't need to be in a relationship, but I'm sure she probably is in one right now or trying to be in one because she feels like this is what the public wants. And you and I both know she is absolutely not ready to settle down right now and be in a relationship. She needs time to herself. She needs to be single. She needs to get her life in order. She needs to get her child custody stuff in order because it doesn't make sense. You can't give your time to a guy when she's going through what she's going through right now. The time that it would need to develop a relationship. And will she listen to me? Probably not.
In fact, I know she wouldn't, but that's been my take literally for the last seven months. She does not need to be in a relationship right now. And I don't know if she is. She kind of posts stuff on Instagram that it's hinting that she is with who? No idea. But I mean, if you're Doug and you took her back, then you have no self respect and you're clearly out for cloud. Not that anybody that goes on reality TV, most of them are out for cloud, but really Doug, you would take this and I'm not saying that Doug did take her back. I have no idea what's going on with Taylor and Doug. But God forbid that this guy took her back. Remember, she posted that text that he sent her that one time. Like, I don't care what you did before I met you all this stuff. It's like, Doug, you got down on one knee. You proposed to this woman and she had so little respect for you that she slept with her ex husband or her ex boyfriend. Sorry. Her ex boyfriend and her baby daddy one day after you guys got engaged and you
would take someone like that back, then you have no self respect. So what a shit show. But an absolute shit show. And we're going to see more of it when secret lives comes and drops next week. I think it drops on Tuesday, the 10th, right? I could be off by one day or so, but it's coming out next week and it's only five episodes. So I'd be able to get through it pretty quickly. And finally, I told you at the beginning of this podcast, there was a first world problem thing that I wanted to talk about. It's not relating to me, but I saw this by somebody that we all know in bachelor nation, saw them post this on their Instagram last night. So now I want to relate it to what I would do. And it was this Jordan Rogers, husband of JoJo and college football commentator posted on his Instagram story yesterday that he had to take a flight from New York City to San Francisco. I'm assuming that means he's going to be out. He had to fly to go to the Miami Stanford game tonight in Palo Alto.
I'm sure he is part of the part of the show that's covering the game. Because that's the only reason he would have to be the only college football happening in the San Francisco area tonight or why you would fly into San Francisco is because Stanford is at home tonight against Miami. Anyway. So Jordan posts on his Instagram story that number one, he's taking a six hour flight. It got delayed. He got put on another flight and that flight. Announce that they don't have Wi-Fi. And then he said, I forgot to charge my headphones, six hour flight, no Wi-Fi and no headphones. So I was like, like I said, this is first world problems because for the longest time planes didn't have Wi-Fi and obviously we've had headphones for the longest time. But so I was thinking to myself, my gosh, if I had to do a cross country flight with no Wi-Fi and no headphones, what would I do?
It's kind of a tough hypothetical for me because I always have my backpack with me when I travel and it always comes on the plane. It's my carry on. And in my backpack, I have literally four or five different chargers. You know, the C, you know, the C port, the B port, all that stuff. And I'm so I would never not be without a place to charge my headphones and or, well, my AirPods or my phone. But when I saw that by Jordan and I saw that he posted that, I was like, oh my gosh, I don't know what I would do. I don't know if I would honestly get off the plane and get on another plane and be like, I'll take another flight. I need a flight with Wi-Fi. Like if it didn't have Wi-Fi, but I could at least get my AirPods to work, okay, fine. It would still suck. Music can only last me so long, but I've gotten a little bit better in my recent travel to download episodes of television shows because if you try
and download it once you're on the plane, well, if you've gotten a Wi-Fi, it will take forever. So I've tried to download episodes of shows that are like my backup plan because I usually don't watch too many shows on the airplane. I usually listen to music and or just scroll the internet, social media, all that stuff. So yeah, first world problems, but yeah, I don't know what I would do, especially I mean, that would really suck on a cross country flight. You know, living in Dallas, I can't remember the last time I took a cross country flight. It's been over 20 years. So that's a good part of living in Dallas. You're kind of right in the middle of the country. I never have more than a three and a half hour flight, really anywhere I go, what are what direction? But my gosh, if I had a six hour flight and it didn't have Wi-Fi and for whatever reason, every single charger that I have in my backpack, I happened to, I don't know, it fell out of my bag and I didn't even know it or or whatever. And I had no way to put in headphones.
Oh my gosh. I would go stir crazy on a plane. What would I do? Stare straight ahead. When I try and raw dog a six hour flight, almost feel like that's what I have to do because I can't do anything. I don't have any books on me. So I can't read any books. I mean, I have to pull something out of my backpack. I don't know, but I'm just saying if I didn't come prepared and I just assumed the flight I was going on had Wi-Fi and I assumed my headphones were charged. And then I get there and I realize there is no Wi-Fi on this flight and I have no power in my headphones and my AirPods. I don't know what I would do. Clueless. I would, I would freak out. I probably would. I probably have a mini panic attack. Anyway, that's my first world problem for the day. I hope Jordan made it. I hope he's good and we watching him tonight when Miami puts boot to ass against Stanford. Anyway, thank you all for listening. Really appreciate it. Follow me and Apple podcasts.
Also rate and review, but you got to hit play. It's the only way it counts as a download. It's more stale. Coming up in an hour from now. So go check that out. And it is all my picks for week one of College football and my college football over under wind totals for the season. Anyway, thank you all for listening. I really appreciate it. Have a great weekend, everybody. I'll talk to you on Monday. See you. I really want to be right up. There is no fantasy. Right. But it's a dream.
