What Gunther really felt about tapping out to J.U. so at Wrestlemania? Is there an XT roster shake-up incoming? And Will and I and Gale wants to marry you. I'm Adam Wilborn, I'm Michael Hamflitz. And this is the news. So what is going on with Pat McAfee,
Michael Hamflitz? Well, that's time we saw him. I believe he just made a short return to WWE, doing the WrestlePaloos a commentary stint. Obviously he's had matches with Gunther and others in the past. But I haven't seen a lot of him, certainly in 2026. And he addressed the whole situation on one of his Instagram stories recently saying, I don't think you ever say never, especially with WWE. But right now, it doesn't feel like it's something that's supposed to happen. Feels like that bit of business has kind of passed me by a little bit. I grew up loving it, dreamed of working it, felt honored that I had the opportunity to work alongside the goat Michael Cole. And I feel like the business is in a good spot without me. I will continue to watch. So it sounds like we are not going to see much of Pat McAfee. It doesn't sound like he's going to be involved across WrestleMania for example, whether it be in just an appearance role or back on commentary or whatever. Obviously not wrestling anytime soon either. I think it's fair to say he's a bit of a divisive figure, isn't he? Yeah, that's fair. And very generous with his words, but I think equally, the gaps are wide
enough to read between the lands. Yeah. Like Pat McAfee, the way he's like, word in this, we've used the title to try and like beat your clicks, but I don't think it's particularly out of land. No, like he does feel like he's trying to very partly say, I'm kind of, I'm kind of through with it. Like the idea that him saying, you know, you never say never in the business doesn't need me is that kind of way that he's trying to put WWE over himself. But you read these things and you know how people talk about their career moves and you know that Pat McAfee has always been busy with lots of other outside interests and has always seemingly kind of that's been his MO really. He's always moved from like one big thing to another big thing and his star has been on the rise and he's been able to monetize his own brand and all that kind of thing. You know, he was there shorts wearing X punter when he came in for a cup of coffee on the NXT panels and that role grew within WWE. And then I would say, disagree with me all they want the comments below, there was something about his presence and I would include Samantha Irving in this as well that were like for non wrestlers extremely reflective of like WWE's creative and commercial boom. They were kind of like symbolic
figures of it like the whole in every single aspect of the show it all felt bigger if you think of Samantha Irving's announcements, if you think of Pat McAfee's commentary, you might not have loved all the work they did but they were like visual elements of it. And now obviously WWE can continue to move away from that period and Pat McAfee seems to be doing the same from WWE. Yeah, he's a busy man, he's not exactly going to be short of work any time soon. He often had to take time away for like NFL or college football related stuff. So maybe it's just one of those things that they've collectively decided. Maybe on special occasions we'll bring you back because they do kind of do that still. Yeah, I still wouldn't rule out appearance at WrestleMania, for example, on a guest commentary spot for some mad match. But I do think the teams are more solid without McAfee because I enjoy them, I'm biased, go cults and what have you, but I like this personality on there, but I also gay could be a bit of a grating presence and a little bit naive let's say at times, you know, people like Joe Tess, obviously Michael Cole, but yeah, Cory Graves,
Wade Barrett, and our favourite of course, Booker T and in NXT, I think they're doing a stellar job are regardless. So it's not like that you're going, come on guys, we'll get Pat McAfee back. Also feels like WWE don't utilise them as much as they used to because they used to like build mania matches off the back of his show, wouldn't they? Yeah, it's, you know, it seems a million billion years ago now, but if you remember the first time it got announced that Pat McAfee was going to work WrestleMania 30 in Dallas, that was because he had like Vince McMahon as a guest in that big interview at the time and like it's been, it's been, Adam Cole's stuff was incredible. The Adam Cole's stuff going on about the 2020 has been used for Hall of Fame announcements, it's like he has very much been a part of the WrestleMania build through multiple different like media strands for the last like three or four years now. So it is, it's weird without him. I would say he's left enough for footprint that this version of WWE without him does feel different. Like again, you're right, he's divisive as a commentator and as a figure and I agree with you, I think the commentator's like the musical chair thing was bad for the shows, I prefer having like a set commentary team for each show, but yeah, I don't know, it feels like
it's significant that Pat McAfee is the one to be ruled out himself. Or it's all a work, and he's going to be working mania, I don't know. Yeah, somebody he's challenging Gunther again or something. Well, it was all Brock Lesnar. He's the one that answers the open challenge. Yeah, look, if he's brave enough to fight Gunther, I suppose he could answer the open challenge of Brock Lesnar. As he was last year at post WrestleMania, when Gunther lost the title to J. Uso and then went on a complete rampage on the rough WrestleMania and Pat McAfee stood up for his friend. I really enjoyed that match that Gunther, Pat McAfee. He too, like sort of follow through from WrestleMania and I think it speaks to like Gunther's progression and how he was given lots of unique roles last year and just made the best out of every single one of them. Yeah, it's why he finds himself in the position he's in in 2026 and he speaks on one of those unique roles, tapping out to J. Uso in the open air of night one of WrestleMania last year. He was speaking on the, well, the Cody Rhodes podcast that I've forgotten this year. What do you guys want to talk about? Thank you, I really should have wrote that on one note. But yeah, he was asked specifically about that defeat in the nature of it,
considering the type of wrestler he is and that J. Uso is not exactly known as like a submission specialist. He really knows a wrestling specialist as he was a massive star. Gunther says, I can swallow my pride when it's over. I have no issue with that. If the audience views that as a weakness, then let them be. It's all right. So Gunther, you know, for all his character is basically protected by the booking of WWE and Triple H is kind of preservation of this guy that wins a title, holds on to it for a very long time. It's almost unstoppable until one little week that happens. He at least was at ease and comfortable with, you know, tapping out to it, a J. Uso sleeper of all things. And I think was it 51 days J. Uso held the title, Gunther then worn it back and kind of normal service was regained again until the loss of CM Punk came when he made me bleed my own blood. Like they're very, very clever with how Gunther actually loses these matches. I think I think Gunther is one of Triple H's tippy top guys, obviously. And it's amazing to see like you say from someone who years ago, I think we just said like, well, he's going to play a role of foreign heel menace, but he's going to be in a very small box with this. I think he's
absolutely just blown all expectations of being a horrible words, but sports entertainer out of the water, obviously. Yeah, the finish was weird. I will say that, I mean, it was a bit like A, it's a submission and B, it was like two seconds he was in it. Yeah. And you had to sort of do the mental gymnastics of like, oh, well, he tapped out to Ilia as well. Yeah. Years ago. It's like, oh, he was he was heading back to that place and some even some MMA fighters tap quickly because they know what's coming. But it was just all a bit strange. I'm confused though, because the internet told me that Gunther was finished after that, but it seems to be all right now. It's a big day of confusion for me. More on the afternoon use as well. You do a very confusing Monday. Oh, what's going on with everything? Well, we're clear up on the news, that's what we do. Yeah, I don't think anything. I mean, I'm expecting, if I ask you right now, what's your money on Gunther's match at, Mania? I will still go with the Ray Mysterio fantasy book and we have partially crafted on the raw review podcast. Yes. Wherever you get your podcast from, we'll be reviewing
SmackDown later on today, as well as reviewing NXT Ving, the A from the Weekend and previewing Monday Night Raw. They're all available on the YouTube channel, wherever you get them audio wise. But I suppose a little bit of that is headcanon because the stuff he's been doing with Dragon Lee, the career killer and that. They found a way for him not to be in the building when Brock Lesnar called out to be for an open challenge, which I think is notable. But as well, I will say I predict all that with zero worry. Gunther will get a spot. It will be one of the biggest spots on the show and like fans will receive him as one of the top stars. I don't worry about Gunther's position now within WWE, even if he's like without a title or a storyline. He's one of those guys that I think is, as you say, we're kind of about our idea of our like Triple H first team and Gunther's one of the starting 11 every single time. Yeah, right now if I'm laying out that Mania card, there's one piece doesn't go right now in this team. So I'll either way it's all falling into place right now, radio head. But you've got Brock, I'd book personally Brock vs Oberfemi. I'm a destroy Brock Lesnar. I'd have Gunther vs
Remistero exactly. We'll hopefully get some more clarification on that on Raw tonight. But the missing piece there is LA Knight. Yeah, but let us know in the comments. Yeah, he's maybe he's just busy at Paul Heyman's bedside because he did take him to hospital last week. Of course. So he's got a couple of minutes of my standards at the time. So he's busy. He's not like he's not busy. Oh, if he had a clip, at least they'd been in the best place for it because that's it. It's just not been a backpile game with him. What's up? It's Sean Linda from Two Black Guys, a good credit. If managed supply runs is still on your to-do list, here's your science upgrade. But yes, there was a fight between Q&A regarding a sort of shake-up within NXT. And this question was asked, do you believe we will or should see Ricky Starks, Ricky Saints, and Ethan Page on the main roster before Summerslam? Who else is there in NXT without them? And the reply came. I believe we see one, but not both of them called up. I think the NXT. I'll probably see W want to make sure there's at least one big talent with national TV exposure and a lot of experience to help leave the charge there. I could see someone like Evil or Hiromu Takahashi eventually being the next person to NXT. I think David Finley would actually have been a good fit. Obviously, he ended up going to AEW rather than joining the birthright in NXT. I've got to say I'm inclined to agree with that one. Joe Henry's obviously still NXT Champion. And you've got people who should be NXT Champion in the likes of Tony D'Angelo going forward. But I wouldn't take out both Saints and Ethan Page, but I could see one moving up to the main roster before Summerslam.
Can we peer Ethan Page, seven figures, and the promise of like a WrestleMania match just to live in NXT forever? Oh, would everybody be happy with that Ethan Page included? Let us know, Ethan Page, in the comments below. I think Ethan's going to the main roster, by the way. I think he's the best wrestler ever. It's been amazing in NXT. Recently by it's notwithstanding, like I would miss Ethan Page terribly if he left NXT. And I don't just mean that in terms of how much I'm loving this character. And you never know quite what he's going to transfer to the main roster. Some stuff will work, some stuff won't. It's the fact that he's so very obviously is beneficial to everybody else. Like he's just, I'm not just talking about it. He just did the J.O.B. like to Miles Bond, and he helped elevate him with a title change. But like we talk about it's a lot on our NXT coverage when we're actually talking about NXT. Like his chemistry with everybody, yeah. He's beyond pretty much what anybody on that roster can manage. Like he was great in backstage segments with Ava when she was still part of the show is there, the GM. Like we've just seen him link up with the Vanity Project and already they feel bigger by
like hanging around him before they even, how can we say we say we say it's been on the same screen as Ethan Page. And like they worked together like when Saints was struggling a little bit to get going as a baby face and Ethan Page was still great in that. Like he's not put a foot wrong in most of his time on NXT. He's just got better and better and better and better. And I think there are some more veteran presence wrestlers on NXT, but Page is the best of the lot. Yeah. Like he's such a difference, Mick. I would love him to achieve every single one of his wrestling dreams, but there's not some sort of way we can compromise on how to get to the liver dreams. Just do Mondays and Tuesdays. Mondays, Tuesdays, seven-figure WrestleMania, live in Florida. Yeah. But I think, you know, I mean, Jon Stapp is speaking from a place of knowledge, even if he's just answering a question. But yeah, like this, the idea now that David Finley's gone to EW, like even Haruimu would be two with the order additions to the NXT roster, but I guess like, you know, Pat McAfee said it himself to me. You never say never. Yeah, it's, it's NXT's an interesting place right now because like you say they've just
been clean now of, you know, Trick Williams, Oberfemmi, Javon Evans, especially Malta, but even you know, Jordan Grace is JC Jena, since not long for NXT, probably same with people like Soul Rooker of as well. So yeah. Oh, absolutely. And I really, really like people like, obviously, Tony D, but Miles Bourne, Lola Vice, you've got Blake Monroe obviously a sort of mega-star in waiting in theory, Jada Parker. So they have got talent, but I also understand, yeah, in terms of people being like looking at a poster and be like, oh, they're there. Yeah. I think right now, you need to hang on to at least one of Page or Saints, but I would not be surprised if the work that Page has done in NXT merits something big on the main roster, especially considering you'll see the way that Trick's elevating himself on the main roster. This is true there. He becomes the new benchmark, doesn't he currently trick Williams? We're going to switch gears, actually back to your mention of Russell Queen number four, because Will and I, Gale was on that card last night, and then she's kind of surprised at all people at the post online because she actually wants to marry
you. What? Me? I thought this is also sort of hanging on. I would leave that on, leave that on if you can. Sorry, love. She didn't mean it, it's a joke. She's going to marry you. She wants to marry everybody. I feel silly now. Yeah. I go excited. Because she got all dined. Excuse me? Yeah. If you want Will and I, Gale, to be stood at the altar of the centre of your wedding, and do the vows bit, she can't be posted on her ex. Just got her down to marry people, so if that's something you're into, yeah, I got you, I guess. Like, what is it? You have a spare weekend or something? What's going on? Going full Joey Trippie, I need some friends. I'm assuming she got it from a website, and maybe you can do it through an hour. I swear, I saw big videos offering something over the rest of any weekend. Maybe that's just good business. Maybe she knows there's a lot of wrestling shows, but why take bumps when you can marry people in the bright light city. I love this sort of stuff. People like Joey did it in friends. Will and I and Gale has done it now.
Yeah, but I love these stories of people doing it for their friends wedding and stuff, and it does make you want to go and say, oh, I'm just not going to step back. What do I actually have to do for that? Because it'd be funny, wouldn't it? Also certain wedding officials, big grumpy bastards, aren't they? Sort of miserable. What's wrong with you? You've got your little booklets. I never run out of ways to make you money. Like, I should be your brand manager or something. I think you could make a great living. Get that paperwork, get that admin done, like Will and I and Gale's done, and then do it for people like via Camille or a similar service, where don't fly this man to your special family. No, we can fly both of us. Fly us both, you need just brand manager. We'll do the stag as well. Oh, 100%. We've put the call out before. We'll come to any single one of your staggers or weddings. I have to do pay for travel accommodation, feed and digs. But like, we get you on like an iPod on a statin. Yeah. And then you do love it. Exactly. I think you'd be great. I do need to tell me some finders for you. Let us know if Will and I and Gale
isn't your cup of tea, and, to be honest, I actually spend the money on Will and I and Gale. That'd be absolutely incredible. I like it. There's a lot of weird wrestling people out there. She's taking a risk with this one. I guess so. I guess like she's weird to Will. She's lovely. She has to be selective as well. Yeah. But like what a great bit of business for everybody involved. That's just like a nice day. If Will and I and Gale like starts posting like, people would never shut up by your wedding. Oh, God. Yeah. And a lovely destination wedding in Greece or whatever. But you're about, um, Gary and Sarah's, they had Will and I and Gale TVS champion open. Yeah. So that's plus presumably if you book her, you might get some sort of like mates rates for Harley Cameron's performance, the wedding as well. Good point. Yeah, you get it. They have to still be tag chumps at the time. Musical at the tournament in the evening. Again, don't they buy a world bond in that case. Um, who would you pick as your wedding efficient from the world of pro wrestling? Get mad for me. He's doing it now. He's on a road made of big mistakes. You want to get married by the mother flipping undertaker? The problem with the dead man being the efficient is, well, there are no
problems. But the one sort of consideration you have to make is like, like, all the families come in, all the friends, a brighter green, brighter green. And then like, the groom comes down the aisle. And then the bride comes down the aisle. And then like, everybody's looking around. Dead man walk. Like rolling, rolling, like the real time back down the aisle. You have to walk down because you know, yeah, the undertaker. But let us know if it's Reverend Devon or any brother love. Anybody else you want to be fascinated on it. It's a great game. Yeah. Play again later, which wrestler could marry you? And now pronounce you husband and wife. Thanks, Hangman Page. Wait a minute. Why are you leaning behind that double book shot? Can you all go a big thing like that? Be great. You wish now. Can't you make the marriage? I dead money for you, bit weird. Where the boy went? What? L.A. night? Do you take this too much?
Now I've got an app around you, man, wife. But before we do that, he gets her again. It looks real, man. We're missing out on a really obvious ID point. And I hate that because somebody's going to get in the comments straight away. But we'll think about it and then we'll do it again because we've got a lot of news for you. When we come over the right one, we'll just do it again in the second news. Promise you won't just say it in the second news. Please, promise it. We'll come at you again. We'll come. You've got paper. Yeah. One of these later. Yeah. One more of these. Really sorry. I'm going to lose back tomorrow. Thanks for sticking with it if you made it this far. And then great video here, though. Yeah. Song of these are the part we just out, but it's going to be pretty great. See you later. Hey, this is Paige de Sorbo from Giggly Squad.
