NEU Chief Blasts Labour's Education Record

On April 2nd, Daniel Cabetti, head of the UK's biggest teachers union, the National Education

Union, just laid into Labor's education record at their annual conference in Brighton.

He says schools are running on empty, letting kids down with weak policies on everything

from inspections to special needs support.

Cavity's straight up challenged education secretary, Bridget Phillipson, calling out

unkept promises.

Earlier this week, Green Party leaders Zach Polanski got a standing ovation there for

pushing big changes like scrapping off-stead inspectors and pumping, serious cash into

schools.

Cavity praised their vision of possibility over scarcity and dropped a stat, 65% of

any U members who voted Labor last year say they, won't again.

That's a clear warning to the government.

Teachers are feeling the squeeze hard classrooms dealing with hungry kids, anxiety, and unmet

needs every day.

Cabetti's slam labor's moves like the new off-stead framework and children's well-being

bill as just rebrands without real cash.

They promise $1,600,000,000 over three years for inclusion in mainstream schools, plus

more for specialists in training.

But unions say it's nowhere near enough to make it work.

Meanwhile, the union's eye national strikes if pay, workload, and funding don't improve.
