Brad, we'll get back to the college whoops here in just a bit, but let's take a look at the NBA games tonight because there was a couple of juicy ones, my friend, and let's start with the one in the West, the Nuggets and the Spurs in San Antonio tonight. 9 p.m. Eastern Denver coming off that blowout win against the Houston Rockets last night. That was a statement Nick Friedell said it. I broke the game down right before it happened. I thought the Nuggets would win comfortably. I didn't think they would win by nearly 30, or excuse me, finally, 40, but they did. 1-29-93. But now a quick turnaround for them.
Going to San Antonio to take on the Spurs who have been red hot winners of five in a row right on the heels of the Oklahoma City. Thunder, San Antonio 25 and six at home. And we look at the injury news here for this one. Aaron Gordon is still questionable. Jamal Murray was questionable. He's now probable to play, but the big one that we are waiting on, Victor Wenbaniyama is questionable, and he is reportedly a true game time decision tonight. He did participate in San Antonio's morning shoot around, but he's got right ankle soreness. That is what Matthew Tainin is reporting, NBA reporter. Wendy has not missed a game since January 2nd and January 3rd. So again, we'll keep you posted on this one all the way up until tip-off, but assuming that Wenbaniyama plays, assuming that Aaron Gordon plays, this is a big one here. Second meeting between these two teams. The Spurs won the first one, Brad. 1-39-136 without Wenbaniyama. They're going to play each other three times now over the next month. So if Wenbaniyama
plays, what do you like in this game? Do you like a side? You like a player? What do you think happens in the Spurs and the Nuggets tonight? Oh, cowboy up, Wenbaniyama. Because I love you in the three pointers made market. So I'm going to go if, again, a giant F. He suits a plus 145. Yeah, roll the shoulders, and get seduced by the Jews on a Wembee dude, not one, not two, but three triples in the game. And maybe with ankle soreness, he'll just loiter out there on the entire game. I'll fight with that little pick and pop. Why not? Oh, you look at Denver last 10 games. They've allowed the six most opponent threes made per game at 14.1. Also giving up 35.5% from way downtown. Wenbaniy has netted at least three or more made threes, and three was last four games. Oh, the month of March. He's average in three point three makes per game. He's average in some point eight, a Chuck's per game from outside netting 42.6% from distance. So again, if
Victor Wenbaniyama is in uniform and does play in this critical match up, I'm going to tail in to make not one, not two, but three made threes at plus 145. Yeah, I like the three ball as well in this one. These are two teams that they're in the top five in offensive rating over the last 15 games. Denver's offense has been cooking. Even before they got Aaron Gorn and Cam Johnson back, you know, because Yokech and Jamal Murray, just an unbelievable duo. And now that they've got those guys back, they've been cooking. Like I said, they cooked Houston rockets are one of the best defenses in the NBA as well. They put up a buck 29 on them and destroy them in the second half. San Antonio has been a great defense all year as well. But I think this is a game where two offenses are really going to be able to show what they can do, especially from deep. That's the one, you know, we look at like which team is better at shooting three, which team is better at giving up the three or not giving up the three. San Antonio does not give up many threes at all. They also don't make a lot. Denver's been susceptible to the three ball, though, at times this year.
And the fact that they're on the back to back and San Antonio is swinging the ball around the perimeter. They're going to get some open looks. You like Wembee? I like Devon Vaselle. How about Devon Vaselle to hit three threes at plus plus a hundred even odds money on bed MGM? He's been cold lately. But I think he's due for a breakout game. This is a guy that from February 23rd to March 3rd in a five game span. Here were the three pointers that he hit. Seven, five, four, three, six. He was in Fuego. Last four games. He's only hit one, two, zero, and two. I think Devon Vaselle is due for a breakout game from beyond the arc tonight. I will go with three threes for Devon Vaselle. You like three threes for Victor Wembeanyama. But hopefully we get threes aplenty either way. And hopefully we get a great game. Hopefully Wembeanyama does suit up for that one. And then how about this, Celtics Thunder tonight from OKC. The reigning NBA champions are 51 and 15. Like we said,
trying to hold off this furs in the West. The Celtics are 43 and 22. They've been on a roll. They've got Tatum back. They did lose the San Antonio other night. Jalen Brown ejected from that game pretty early on. And injury news also to look out for in this one as well. That we will keep you posted on all the way up until tip off. But Jason Tatum, he's out. So you figured there might be a day sooner or later where Tatum gets a rest. Tatum gets a seat. That is tonight. Jason Tatum is out now playing in this game. And then the point guard for the Celtics Derek White. He is questionable to play. He is a game time decision. And then for the Thunder, same injuries last game that have kept out two of their starters. Jalen Williams, JDub, their second best player. He is out once again. Still nursing that hamstring injury. That's going to be a concern for them really, really soon if they don't get him back in the next couple of weeks. And then Isaiah Hartnstein is out as well for this one. Hartnstein. So the the
Thunder, they are pretty decent favorite here since Tatum got ruled out. It's seven and a half points for the OKC Thunder. The total is a low. 216 and a half is the first of two meetings between these two teams this year. And Brad, the question is can the Boston Celtics get it done without Jason Tatum? And if there is ever, if there is one last stand for Jalen Brown to prove that he belongs still neck and neck in that MVP conversation with Shay Gilgis Alexander, you better outplay him tonight. Coming off the ejection. Jalen Brown better have a freaking night. That's all that I'm saying. And it'll most likely there'll be an opportunity for SGA to ball out once again though. Two of the top defense is going out of Brad. What do you like in this one? Yeah, Richard was good to deal with Jason Tatum on the rebounding market. But of course, with a matter of action, that is out of here. So I'm going to go with the Neumias Cata, the pride of Utah State. I'll take the over a nine and a half boards for him. And a lighter juice and a minus 105. And that is the area where OKC is really struggling for the better part of the last couple of years. It really
don't have a whole lot of weaknesses except defending the glass over the last 10 games. The Thunder of the fourth most opponent rebounds for game of 47.4. And Cata's a guy when Tatum was out, I was getting consistently 25 to 30 minutes at a game consistently getting in that nine to 11 rebound. If not more range of, you know, squeezing of the rock. So with the heavy reliance on him with Tatum sideline, could be another one of those 25 to 30 minutes played. And I think he will corral at least 10 boards and we cash on that over at a minus 105. Yeah, I'm still waiting. Honestly, we're two hours away from tip or just over two hours away from tip. I'm still waiting for the full player props to be made available here. I wanted to take Jalen Williams, the other Jalen Williams, who I've been love and watching him play over the last couple of weeks, coming off the spark, providing, coming off the bench and providing a spark. Yeah, he's coming off the spark and providing a bench for the Thunder. He's been awesome. They don't have his props listed yet. And I think that's probably because of
the questionable status to Derek White. I don't think there's nobody else on the OKC. That's questionable. Like Heart and Stein's not playing. Jada is not playing. Other than that, it should be good to go. But Jalen Williams, his props are not available yet. So when they do become available, I'm probably going to take his over rebounds. Again, Heart and Stein is out. When that has been the case the last three times, Jalen Williams has played at least 30 minutes. And he's grabbed double digit rebounds every single time. There is this is going to be a defense of game in my opinion. So I would think Jalen Williams is going to play again at least 30 minutes. He's coming off a monster game. He had 29 and 12. And I think he's going to once again give a spark to OKC off the bench. So we'll keep you posted on that. And I'll slip that in there whenever his props do become available. Let's pivot now, Brad. Low college hoops. You got an upset special for us here tonight in a game that's starting shortly in the big 12 conference, tournament in Kansas City. Kansas, the J Hawks, a very enigmatic polarizing team going up against
the TCU purple horned frogs. I don't know if they're still officially the purple horned frogs. They might just be the horned frogs, but we know they're purple horned frogs. Yeah. Yeah. What do you like in this game? You a little upset special here, huh? You're not trusting Kansas. Great horny toes. Go, Yosemite. Say I'm on you. Yeah. I love TCU in this game. I actually grabbed them at plus 200 early today. I can't get that price anymore. It's now down 30 cents to plus 170. But I think the horned frogs or a live dog and I think you're going to be kicking in this one. Yeah, you look at the advanced metrics. They're not the greatest profile. Miss TCU is north and number 230 in EMG offense and EMG defense over the last 30 days, but they are an exceptional rebounding team. Top 15, the country and their last eight games in generating second chances. They apply a lot of all-embal pressure, coaxing a turnover and over 20% of opponent possessions, and they get to line. They use a lot of contact and make it pay with those charity strived aggers that they plunge. Look at Kansas. They're the biggest
issue right now. Defensively, they've been outstanding. But offensively, they're just out of sore. It's how bad if they bend? Well, they're dreadful. Number 315 in the country. An effective fugal percentage offense over the last 30 days. They're only shooting 45.1% from two. So around the rim and that execution has just been sorely lacking. A lot of bricks laid, a lot of bunnies missed. And again, TCU does a really good job clogging a lane and limiting you to one and done possessions. And that's going to be key in this game. So again, great, horny toads. I like TCU because Kansas right now, they have hit the skids at the most inopportune time. I think they're going to, as you stage left in the first big 12 tournament game. And the same could be applied in the NC tournament as well. The upset bug could be biting soon in Lawrence. Oh, baby. You are super down on Kansas and I can't blame you one bit. That game's actually
at 9.30 PM Eastern. I thought that that was the next game up in the big 12 tournament. That's Houston and BYU. That should be a freaking good one. That's coming up on the top of the hour. We got, yeah, we got Duke Florida State about the tip. We got Xavier Yukon about the tip. We got Ole Miss and Georgia about the tip and Purdue and Northwestern already underway. So we'll get you caught up on those games and we've returned. And some of the other biggest results with massive implications on March Manus when we return. This is Westwood One Sports. Hey, John.
