Schools across South Australia pause national assessment program literacy and numeracy tests today after technical glitches hit the online platform. Around 80,000 students in years 3, 5, 7, and 9 were set to take the exams, but log in problems stop the nationwide. The Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority confirmed the widespread issue and said their technology provider is working urgently too. Fix it. Schools got word to hold off on testing until it's resolved. South Australia's Education Minister Blair Boyer shared a personal angle, noting his own daughters were nervous for their first napland today. He said many kids and parents feel the same disappointment right now. Boyer called it a national problem affecting other states too. He pushed back on calls to switch back to pen and paper tests. The online system usually delivers results much faster, especially with March timing, so schools and families can act quickly on any support needs.
